When you have done all you can Fluthering, what is there left to do here?

Asked by Hypocrisy_Central (26879points) January 16th, 2012

As the year broke, and I reflected on where I want to get to as well as what I have done, I thought of what I have accomplished here. What I have yet to accomplish I cannot do on my own. Since I cannot do so, (and seemingly will not because of which) what is there left? I thought of “I could reach 20k”, but that seems less important now; it doesn’t really mean much of anything. I find it more rewarding in the real world working towards real world goal, for the family I plan to launch. What is there left to do when you feel you have gone as far as you can go?

What did you want to accomplish here, and what do you feel is left to be done? I’m here to help other people and to learn new things. I don’t really feel like that will ever be completely accomplished, as there are always people who need help and there is always something new to learn.

fuck it. not worth my time fucking a wall.

How have you accomplished all that you can? Have you answered all of the questions that you can?

gailcalled's avatar

When you have go as far as you can go, then perhaps you go.

The choices are simple; no one is coercing anyone.

I’m not here to achieve any kind of goal. I am here because it is fun for me. I pretty much Fluther every day but once I have answered all the questions that I want I leave. I don’t linger, waiting for new questions to appear, I just sign off for the day and come back the next for a new set of questions. That is all. My Fluther use is not complicated at all. It sounds to me like you are thinking too deeply about your use of Fluther but if you really feel like you can’t “achieve” anything else here then maybe it’s time to move on.

Please note I don’t want you to move on, I enjoy many of your questions.

Yes, fluther is a fun past time, reading, sharing, gaining new knowledge, enjoying the vast diversity of the participants. I agree with @Leanne1986 I am here for fun and a little online learning and socializing, however, as everything in life, all things come and go.
If you feel your time is up and you’ve run the fluther course, then, you simply move on.
Evaporation happens. lol

Whatever you want to do. Fluther can be really fun, maybe a little slow at times, but I like the fact that it teaches me more about myself. How I respond to questions, why I think a certain way. It helps me question and understand things more than other sites.

If someone feels they’re not getting anything out of Fluther anymore, there is no stopping them from finding a new, exciting place to lay their thoughts and opinions.

You wait for the next interesting question.

I agree with @FutureMemory . Just take a little break. Or just limit your time.. check once in the mornings or whatever.

Fluther is just a river flowing down from high mountains passed @Coloma‘s hot tub and out to sea.

Take a break.

@augustlan*What did you want to accomplish here, and what do you feel is left to be done? I’m here to help other people and to learn new things.* Measurable, I think I got as far as I can, less handing around another 4 years to get to 20k which is not that big in the grander scheme of things. As far as helping people, I would have to coin that a personal failure.

@johnpowell You don’t want to do that, you might break your Robert Earl.

@gailcalled When you have go as far as you can go, then perhaps you go. Who said anything about going? I want to know what more can one do with Fluther? At some point I will see real life dealings to far out shadow Fluther and I would not see any appeal hanging around, though that day is not today.

@FutureMemory You wait for the next interesting question. There are some, but they seem to get lost in the hoopla of ideology, and/or propaganda. I avoid wading into many questions off the concept of it, because of the ideological infighting.

Wow, I thought the whole purpose of fluther was the ideological infighting! ;-)

@Hypocrisy_Central: Your question was: . What is there left to do when you feel you have gone as far as you can go?

Stay and hope for something interesting to show up.
Stay and grumble.
Leave and move on to better things.

Have I forgotten something? I think I got as far as I can. That is very clear.

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

Is there something to accomplish here? I don’t get it…were you using Fluther as a substitute for other things? Then you were wrong all along.

janbb's avatar

Is your goal to get to 20,000 K or is it to learn to write and think more clearly? How long you stay may depend on what you are trying to accomplish, if anything.

YARNLADY's avatar

I have so many other sites to visit that I start with Fluther, then move on to a different one.

I visit Fluther many times through out the day, and I nearly always find something new.
