Did any women here develop gestational diabetes and go on to have a somewhat manageable vaginal birth?

I just found out that I MAY have gestational diabetes and I am already thinking about what I can do to eat better and have a healthier pregnancy. Did you get gestational diabetes? Did that automatically mean you had a difficult birth or a c-section? I have never had high blood sugar in my life so this is all new to me.

I did, and I did. It was my second, and childbirth was on the very fast and easy side of normal, with no complications of any kind.
All it meant for me was that I had to resist cravings for sweets during my last couple of months.
My husband brought me some French vanilla ice cream in the hospital once it was over.
My niece had it with her second and third sons, now aged 6 and 2. Once she learned about it, she watched everything that she ate and was scrupulous about her weight gain, since she started on the heavy side. So she ended up thinned than when she became pregnant.
Her 6 year old was born so fast that my niece didn’t even have time to get from the loving room to the bedroom. She slid from the sofa onto the rug and her husband caught the baby as it popped out.
I don’t remember the details of the two-year old’s arrival, but I know it was a natural birth, but in the hospital in a user-friendly birthing room.
I had high blood sugar and was on a restricted diet, everything went just fine. Vaginal birth, whopper baby girl that weighed 8.4. lol

I had it in my third pregnancy. I followed the doctor’s advice, went on a very restrictive diet, and gave (vaginal) birth to a 5lb14oz girl. She was over two pounds smaller than either of my first two!
My second was 8 lb. 12 oz, a thoroughly solid and healthy package, and 11 oz. heavier than the first.
It may be worth noting that I didn’t gain any weight during about my last trimester. The baby did, obviously, but my weight when I stepped on the scale didn’t change.
I had gestational diabetes with my daughter- and lost 25 pounds. She was 6lbs, 1 oz and I had a vaginal birth.
I severely restricted my carb intake to 5 meals a day, 15/15/30/15/30 carbs each.
I had gestational diabetes with my 4th and last. I can’t really answer the rest of your question because I didn’t have any more babies. My first three were normal pregnancies and vaginal births. The 4th baby was a full pound heavier than the first 3, and as a consequence he couldn’t turn around when the time came. He was breech, with one foot up and one down, so had to be delivered c-section.
