What male names do you like?

Asked by MilkyWay (13911points) January 18th, 2012

Not names you would want to name your child with, just generally. What male names do you like?

Basil… (a new one I heard today that I liked)

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@babybadger That’s funny, my niece was lobbying for that name for my ten month old nephew. We were working on Basil and other herb combinations.

babybadger's avatar

@Adirondackwannabe Really? What a coincidence haha, I’d never even heard of it before today. What were the other herb combos?

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

Basil oregano, Basil Rosemary, (my brother winced at that) and Basil Mint were a few of them.

...and I liked Jasper and Cooper as names for our 3rd child but my husband insisted names that that would result in him always getting his @ss kicked at school..so…our son is not named either of those names.

Not all in that order. I always thought a lot of guys names sound cooler than female names.
Some female names are either boring or sound like they are for old women.

Conner.
River.
Bryan (I always call them Bry Guy!)
Justin.
Dakota.
Gabriel.
Clint.
Antuny. (Pronounced with an accent, like Ant-Un-E.)

I love the name Faygon, but you just can’t name a kid that anymore. People would call him Faggot. :/

ERY ( pronounced “E-rye” ) – short for Ernest Ryan

The one that always comes first to mind, usually when I’m writing a story, is Daniel. I’ve stopped using it in my writing though because it’s the name of my daughter’s fiance.

Other favourites are Joshua, Alexander, Jonas and Kale (I dunno if Kale is a real name, I made it up and like it).

I love the name William. I also like my dad’s name, Christopher (or Chris).

All of the names I like I would consider calling my child if I had any intention of having children. However, there are some male names that I love, like Oscar, but I have had dogs with those names so I wouldn’t use them for my (hypothetical) children’s names.

Well, actually it’s the most popular names over the last decades in German-speaking countries.

And since when is Fluther an American place? What’s with the Hotdog influence. This is Cyberspace.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@mattbrowne pulling your leg. I loved your list. And I love the international mix to the web. But us Arrogant Americans have to keep up our appearances or the rest of the world will get uppity.:)
