Is it easier to pull a rabbit out of a hat or a habbit out of a rat?

Asked by ETpro (34605points) January 21st, 2012

TGIS question.

The rabbit from a hat trick isn’t at all easy. Not many colleges offer magician’s classes. And rabbits are notorious for their jumping ability. Half the magic of the trick is getting the little leporidae to stay in the hat till you reach in and free him.

Then there’s pulling a habit out of a rat You might have a friend or family member who is a rat, and if they have any annoying habits (most rats do) than you know how tough it can be to pull a habit out of a rat.

So which is easier. Which have you ever managed to do? Or are they both a collosal waste of time when there is a great Saturday Night to celebrate in a rat free zone?

I hate to say it, but it’s really pretty nasty trying to get a habit out of a rat. There aren’t all that many rats that have taken vows in the first place, and most of those know that a habit is for wearing, not eating. But once in a while there’s a nun rat that takes its hat and consumes it, and then you’ve got that tricky problem of getting an habit out of a rat. Without killing it.

All in all, I’ll take my chances on getting the rabbit out of the hat. The hat, at least, is not living, and won’t eat the rabbit, unlike the rat that eats the habit. Or the habit hat, to be specific.

The habit hat, eaten by the rat, is so much more difficult to disconsume than to make the hat disgorge the rabbit. And that, my friends, is that.

@ETpro… if you ever find yourself being committed to the asylum by writ of your fellow fluthererer’s, please note it is questions like these we will use to justify your incarceration. It’s just safer for everyone that way.

Man, this is one crazy question. I can’t decide if it has anything to do with Western outlaws or figuring out who sawed off the head of a women who just sat in a shmancy restaurant for two weeks, waiting for her lover to come back to her, while he was long gone to 1955 with a werewolf, and never coming back.
It would be easier to pull a tractor out of my butt.

’‘scratches head’’ Technically, I see two different things being asked. One about method, and the other about experience and street smarts that can’t be taught in a course, unless it’s psychology or something, and even then. It’s just I really don’t see how the two relate, so I can’t give an encompassing answer that may hit two vultures with one bone.
But then again maybe there isn’t more to figure out than what is asked…in which case, I’d say taking a habit out of a rat is harder. I mean taking a rabbit out of a hat is probably pretty complicated, but it’s something you can learn and be sure of, once you master it. Unless it’s one of em crazy killer rabbits from Xena, but then, it wouldn’t even let you put it in a hat. But convincing a rat that they suck and must change their ways, even if you’re a shrink, or a close friend, or a really old man who’s seen it all, you can’t ever be sure, no matter how many notches under your belt. You got to get to the person and understand them.
If you were once a rat or still are, it’s probably easier than being some guy who studied years of college or uni to help people with drug addictions, but have never done drugs yourself. It’s a stereotypical example by which I mean no offense. I just can’t come up with anything better. I’m a rat, but I’m one of those who just likes to curl up in hay and sleep. (like Ratboy above me, although I bet he never sleeps :D) I don’t chew on cigars or maul small time restaurant workers as they take out the trash.

@rebbel Spoony THE Cat says, :“Don’t pull one damn bit of my ambit.” She’s pretty happy with here sphere of influence just the way it is. :-)

@RealEyesRealizeRealLies I took a stab at Gwabit Wabbit, but I just couldn’t nab it.

@wundayatta And here I thought that all rats were part of the order, Rodentia.

@RealEyesRealizeRealLies The master plan is working. I am committed to getting myself committed. Free room and board, and all the psychoactive meds my muddled mind can absorb. What’s not to love?

@Symbeline I am fully on board with the tractor out of a back-door gambit. I’ve got my right arm all greased up and ready to reach in. When do we start?

As to the two vultures, hit ‘em with one freshly slaughtered and LSD spiked rabbit and you will stone two birds with one kill.
