Did you know your partner loved you before they actually said it? If so, how?

My boyfriend and I were together for nearly three years before he actually told me he loved me but, despite not hearing the words, I knew that he loved me for a long time before he told me. He now admits that I was right. What told you that your partner loved you before you heard the words?

I just asked her. Her response: Because you couldn’t keep your hands off of me.
Hahaha, whatever that means.
We were having some very sweet times and moments.
I wasn’t sure, but I hoped so.
A mutual friend of ours was the first to tell me that Vicky loves me. She saw it way before I did, and I am eternally grateful to her! : ))
I still have the card. He sent me flowers at work with a card when we were dating that said, “All I do is think about you. I walk around with a smile on my face all day. I feel like a silly school boy. I love you. Do you love me? Check one: Yes or No
I laughed and called him. As soon as he answered he said, I love you, B.
Edit: I realized I didn’t really answer the question. I just knew by the look in his eyes when he talked to me and the way he smiled when we looked at each other. I knew by the way it felt when he touched me.
We’ve been together twenty-three years. I still don’t know if she loves me.
She says she does, and I believe her. I’d say she tolerates me, she likes me, I’m her friend for sure. But ‘love’? I can only take her word for it.
Yes, my mom told me he did and I believed her. A month after my mom’s talk, he told me himself when he asked me to become exclusive, about 5 months into our dating.
I think that sometimes I felt they loved me even before they said it, but I was never totally certain. What I was certain of was how I felt, and that seemed to sway them. I say them because I have fallen in love more than once in my life. I have been fallen in love with more than once.
I was scared to hear him say it…I knew he did love me…but we were both married then.
For me, it was when I went away to see my g/f at the time (now my ex). Nikki and I were friends during that time. Nikki was in love with me and when I came home, I told her that I loved Cris, my then g/f. We were at the beach and were sitting under the stars. I looked over and she was rubbing her eyes. I asked her if she was alright. She said to me, “I have some sand in my eyes”. She was crying.
That’s when I couldn’t keep my hands off of her. Not in a sexual sort of way. I felt as though I needed to be close to Nikki. There was a connection from the very beginning.
