I think I’d go with a Bouzouki, Banjo or Sitar….....or just regular guitar, but it wouldn’t be as novel.
Didgeridoo, Tabla, and Theremin come to mind…but the saw would be a close runner-up!
Will resist urge to make comment about playing with glockenspiels….....yes I will, yes I will….!!
a mean classical guitar a la Tim Reynolds
Ironically, although I build harps as an occasional sideline and love celtic harp music, I couldn’t begin to play one. I’m not so enamored of classical harp (a bit too schmaltsy), but the paraguayan and celtic traditions really know how to make it rock. I get some satisfaction out of putting a great instrument in the hands of someone who knows how to make it sing, but there is this little gnawing wish that I could just sit down behind one of my own harps and let ‘er rip (sigh).
I can play the flute, though I haven’t for many, many years. I want to know how to play the drums but don’t have the time right now to learn.
i’m one of the folks that has an innate gift to be able to pick up & play an instrument with ease. i play a few (guitar, bass, drums, piano, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, flute, clarinet, hand drums & then the not-so-useful ones like didgeridoo & nose flue [yes, its a real instrument] among others) i’d really love to play cello. its one of the most beautiful instruments to me (when played well, obviously)
This is a bit off-topic, but, in fact, I would like to propose the bagpipes as the official musical instrument of Fluther, due to its resemblance to the beloved jellyfish.
I already can play the guitar, clarinet & piano…. But I’ve kinda stopped playing them due to being so busy. I’d like to take up those instruments again!.
i wanna play either the jew harp or washboard in a swampbilly band.
I already play guitar, bass, drums, mandolin, and harmonica but I wanna learn the piano, banjo, and sitar.
@Bub. I wanted to get into steel drums at one point. I was amazed at how much money they cost, especially authentic pan drums.
I would love to play crystals (glasses with water in them) professionally, but I currently play the alto saxophone. I don’t know how to say this without bragging, but I’ve had a scholarship offer all four years in high school…
Do you think there could be a scholarship for spoons?
i wanna learn kazoo solos like in split lip rayfield songs!
steel guitar owoooooooooooo
A scholarship for spoons…...how differently my life could have turned out…..playing the royal albert hall…...
I’ve always been fascinated by those with the tenacity and ability to play a church organ.
Their range of motion is incedible. One would seemingly have to have the ‘wing span’ of an Albatross to play one.
