I need a comfortable reading chair?

Asked by Akua (4730points) January 27th, 2012

Can anyone recommend a comfortable chair that is really good for reading? I like to read a lot but I can’t seem to get comfortable anywhere in the house, either my back/neck starts hurting, or my legs/butt fall asleep. I need chair that I can sit in for long periods of time just for reading. Suggestions?

This one gets good reviews.

@marinelife thanks. It does look comfy but pricey. Oh well, I guess you get what you pay for.

I like my lazyboy, but then I can get comfortable on a bed of rocks!

I have a very comfortable recliner which is just my size (small). I got it for $75 at a liquidation store. You can find low price recliners at Charity thrift stores, and free on Freecycle.org

Lots and lots of pillows on any surface will make a big difference. I personally like wing-back chairs with ottomans, I like to read sitting-up as straight as possible. I do stuff pillows in the small of my back to adjust the lumbar support and I’ll put my feet on a stack of pillows, or a workout ball, or the ottoman, depending on what I need for comfort. A chaise has always appealed to me, too.

I like this one but when fully reclined with the massager going on, you won’t be able to read too long.

Okay I like that and the price isn’t too bad at all!
