That would presuppose it is entirely a genetic trait. I don’t believe that it is.

Just wondering because of late,most people seem to lack a great deal of it.

@JilltheTooth does it not seem to you that a great deal of people today lack any common sense??

What is common sense? If you define it for us, we could teach it to the world.

@Keep_on_running They couldn’t learn it.why try?

Whether or not they lack common sense says nothing of breeding practices. And, BTW, no, most of the people I choose to spend time with don’t lack common sense. Mostly I see that because of technological advances we just see way more of what strangers tell us that they are thinking and feeling. I don’t see that these people necessarily conduct their actual lives in any less sensible a manner than I do, and I’m sure some of them would think that I’m lacking in common sense because I do things differently than someone else would. I find your gross generalization to be just that: a gross generalization.

After reading Predictably Irrational I don’t have a lot of faith in the human mind’s ability to make the best decisions without education and rigorous mental discipline. It turns out that common sense is often wrong about a lot of things in the natural world.

Who’s to say that we had some to begin with. Watch the movie Idiocracy.
