What does the definition of "God's country" mean to you? Where is your God's Country?

Asked by Aster (20028points) February 8th, 2012

I just read someone call Hollywood “God’s country.” To me, it would be a more scenic place like small town Colorado or even Hawaii. What is Your God’s country? Mine is Montana, Wyoming or even NW Arkansas.

@YoKoolAid Look outside?? A neighborhood with flat land? Oh, you mean God created it wherever you look. True; the question is just an expression people use.

They use the expression, Godzone, (when said fast it sounds like God’s Own) about New Zealand. That place is my idea of a god’s country. I could google pictures all night, but then I would get even more homesick and cry.

New Zealand is beautiful @cazzie. I can see why you would be homesick and yes, it is an example of God’s country. I also love the Lake District in the UK. Especially Wastwater… I don’t think there is one place. It is any place where you look around at the beauty of nature and are awestruck. There are a number of places I have been that fit that bill. We live on a beautiful, beautiful planet.

As they say, Germany is the country where God kissed the earth.

I don’t know if I would call anywhere“God’s country” but I must admit that I feel closer to God when I am in the Scottish highlands. My faith is stronger when I am surrounding by such beauty.
