Oh so many to list… Monsanto, the Catholic Church has a really dark and bloody past, One could argue that the USSR all in all tops the Nazi Party, Catepillar has some pretty dark secrets, Chevron does as well, Dow Chemical kinda started out bad with Agent Orange and Napalm, DynCorp is extremely two faced to say the least with plenty of war crimes under their belt as well as underage prostitution as was seen in Bosnia, Nestle thrives off of child labor/slavery, Pfizer, Suez-Lyonnaise Des Eaux (SLDE)...

@King_Pariah So pretty much: any corporation….lol.

KKK would be an option. Of source, unfortunately, there are many evil organizations in the world.
The Nazi of course would be on the list too.
I don’t think you can say that the Catholic Church is an evil organization. Of course it has its dark side and back in the days there have been many evil things done in the name of the church. But I think you should judge an organization on its foundation and then some people in the organization make it evil. KKK, for example, I would say has evil foundations.

I’m not a fan of Al-Qaeda myself, but I’d have to say the Nazi Party was the worst organization to ever exist. Also getting sick of Boko Haram

I’ll go with the KKK.

Black Panthers. Look it up.

The NSDAP, followed by the Catholic Church, the UDSSR, and the USA.

@eiram on Foundation? The Catholic Church almost right off the bat began eliminating other sects of Christianity.

tups's avatar

@King_Pariah People in it did, yes. The foundation is Christianity. Of course there can be different opinions on that, but that a whole other conversation.

King_Pariah's avatar

@eiram The Catholic Church was founded to create a set, unwavering interpretation of Christianity as the founders initially believed that God would be angered by multiple interpretations and set out pretty viciously to try to ensure that it was thee only train of Christian belief. Fortunately you have Emperors like Theodoric the Great (and an Ostrogoth, I am well aware this has nothing to do with this argument so you may tally it up to my being random ish) who made sure that the Catholic Church couldn’t complete this “mission from God.”

HungryGuy's avatar

Pretty much all of them.

tups's avatar

@King_Pariah You sure do know your facts. I’m honestly too tired to look it up and to find an argument as good as your arguments. But I know that a lot of Catholics would be sad to hear they are an evil organization.

The Girl Scouts—the organization behind the nefarious cookie conspiracy.

I dunno…aside form the Nazi party, did you all know that under Stalins rule that 6–7 million people died of famine and cannabalism was rampant in the Soviet Union? Millions of people were eating their loved ones, kidnapping children as food, selling human meat, robbing graves. I was just reading about the 1921 famine in the Ukraine….mercy….evil is EVERYWHERE and really, measuring the lesser of evils is an exercise in futility.

Sunny2's avatar

I don’t think Catholic people are evil. but the Catholic Church has certainly had periods when what they did was evil. The Spanish Inquisition?

Coloma's avatar

@Sunny2 Yeah, the Inquisition is right up there on the scale of 1 – 10 of evil.
I know a lot of “recovering” Catholics, and some unrecovered. lol

Coloma's avatar

@filmfann Oh God…excuse me while I throw up. Those people are beyond depraved and dysfunctional. Gag!

DominicX's avatar

Also, don’t forget the Westboro Baptist Church. Their latest stunt is protesting at the funeral of Josh Powell’s murdered sons claiming that they died because of the Washington governor’s acceptance of homosexuality…

As far as the past goes (before the modern era) I would say the Catholic Church, and Nero and his followers were not great people either torturing all of those Christians. As far as today goes I would say the banking industry.

Coloma's avatar

@YARNLADY There is a private road near me called ” Heavens Gate.” I always think of the lunatics when I see it. lol

I know its not an organization but I would have to call it human kind.
Lets face it, groups are formed by people. Its not always the group that is evil but rather the people who use propraganda to serve their cause and spread hatred, murder and mayhem. Some of these groups are definetly bad but if you look at the start of some of them, it is not how they all started. Even companies. But greed and power always come to play and then the shit hits the fan.
Look at the salvation army. It started out and still is a good organization to help those in need but then some people joined to help themselves along the way and the whole organization gets a black eye for it.

This is the problem with evil. Once something is evil, as I’ve seen in the many exampled answers and links here, you can’t really have one thing that’s more evil than another, whether it has to do with tyranny or child abuse. You can’t measure the degrees of suckness, if they all just outright suck. I know good and evil are subjective, but there’s a reason why most of us think otherwise. The problem is that there has always been so much evil and that there IS too much evil. The methods and intents may vary, but evil is evil, and one can’t really top the other, if it deals with pain, death and suffering that just doesn’t need to happen.

Or whatever, I guess like, fuckin MacDonald’s.

mattbrowne's avatar

Organizations or movements who promote the view that the NSDAP (Nazi party) and the Catholic Church are to be seen as equally evil. Now, I’m a huge critic of the Vatican, but such comparisons are absurd.

King_Pariah's avatar

@mattbrowne The Catholic Church was aggressively persecuting people for what, about 1,300 years? They’re not evil now perhaps, but they were definitely pretty damn evil.

mattbrowne's avatar

@King_Pariah – In the past the Catholic Church killed people when they disagreed. The Nazis organized the mass murder of 6 million Jews, squeezing them into freight trains headed for Auschwitz, whole families including small children. Making them wait in line before they entered the gas chambers. They also killed thousands of people with mental illnesses and other “unworthy” life.

Now when you look at the history of the Catholic Church you will find evil practices such as the Crusades and the Inquisition. But the Catholic Church, even in the past, was also made of millions of priests, monks, nuns, and devout believers who loved their neighbors and did good things, trying hard to follow the life of Jesus.

I suggest you read the New Testament and then read ‘Mein Kampf’ and hopefully question and critically examine your outrageous claim when comparing the two organizations.

King_Pariah's avatar

I suggest you look at why the catholic church was originally founded and tell me that that was good.
