Onomatopœia.
Is it one that you use(d) when you talk(ed) to your child(ren) Vroom vroom for a car?
One you read in comics?
A self-invented onomatopoeia perhaps?

Oh, I like many instances of onomatopoeia. Not the animal sounds and comic book sound effects so much as the evocative verbs:
flicker
sputter
spatter
bubble
rattle
whisk
whoosh
swish
slosh
pop
and so on.
I talked to my children in real words.
Whoosh is very high on my list!
Plop
buzz
whisper
whiz
hiss.
Reaching a bit, but “tintinabulation” sort of qualifies and is one of my faves of all time, along with Poe’s The Bells.
I love, love LOVE the call of the chickadee, “chick a dee dee dee” especially in the early morning.
Does “ratatatatatatatatata” count?
Sounds from a poem I used to read to my son while bouncing him on my knee with different rhythms. I made up quite a few more “rhythms.”

This is the way the gentlemen ride,
Gallop-a-trot,

This is the way the farmers ride,

Susurrus (I’m not sure that it technically counts, but I always hear the word in my head in a sibilant, whispering voice. Does that count?).
The sounds of a long eared doggie’s ears blowing in the wind whilst hanging his head out of the car window. It’s flippity-flappety
Shplat! Pop! Plop. Squish. Gurgle.
@syz Susurrus is a lovely onomatopoeia. I hear a wave coming over a rocky beach.
Schling! That’s supposed to be two swords clanging together.
Ka Ching, the sound of money
