Tofurky! Also cranberry-apple dumplings, asparagus, mashed potatoes with gravy and mixed greens salad. Washing it all down with Mojitos.
I made my Chicken and Vegetable Penne with diced chicken breast, low-carb pasta (Dreamfield is my friend), zucchini, mushrooms, garlic, and diced onion in a parmesan cream sauce.
Okay, I wrote this question because I am hungry. Somehow your answers aren’t helping lol. now i am ready to drool. marina, i have never tried dreamfield pasta. must look into that. i envy you two for your meals! (except, i am not sure about…...tofurky—- tofu + turkey?)
Eurovision and a bottle of white Zinfandel (best wine to end a sunny day with)
@ wildflower – nothing solid? i enjoy eurovision (but I am never able to keep track of everyone) and all its accompanying drama. one of my best friends is Ukranian, so I always end up cheering for them somehow…..
Well I had a chicken sandwich earlier. Denmark and Iceland both made it to the final (which will be on Saturday). Ireland didn’t, but then their entry was a turkey puppet!! Oh, and the Swedish entry looks deamonic! She’s scaring me!!
My girlfriend’s son is a lead cook at Flying Star, which is consistently rated one of the best area restaurants (and which has expanded over the years to eight locations, plus five “Satellite” coffee shops. They’re opening a new location in Bernalillo, NM (about 15 miles north of ABQ proper). He is working tonight, and we’re taking my gf’s mom to go check it out. I’ll probably get the lo mein with shrimp, unless one the specials catches my eye.
@PNL and Astrochuck I think of myself a pretty broadminded about food, but Tofurkey is an abomination. It doesn’t taste like turkey. It doesn’t taste like good tofu. If you trying to avoid meat, why eat pseudo-meat? There are so many great veggie entrees that one can do.
Indian food with my houseguest! ! Probably a massive serving of spinach naan, some sort of tikka masala and then halvah for dessert.
I have to agree with you Marina. Personally, I yet have to eat a tofu dish that I like. If I was going vegetarian, I would be definitely eating Indian food. jinx figbash. Also, figbash, what kind of halvah? Sooji? Carrot? Oh no….i need to eat soon!
@figbash I’ll put my pasta in the frig if you let me come over for some Indian food. Love it!
So I like Tofurky. Sue me. I don’t eat animals.
I know there’s frivolous law suits in CA, but for liking tofurkey?!? Now you people have gone too far!
lol wildflower! i respect astrochuck’s eating choices. i just have been disappointed with the tofu dishes I have eaten so far. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place?
@ kevbo, sounds great, maybe he will start a chain in Ohio someday :D
I am having Crab Stuffed Flounder, Potato Salad, & Broccoli & Cheese. Yum!
@AstroChuck Chacun a son gout. I have no problem with you eating tofurkey.
Whole wheat brown sugar pop tarts and strawberry milk…..in bed. I had a bad day.
@ Cygnet, well whatever happened, hope you feel better!!!
@CygnetSwan Pop tarts make a great comfort food, don’t they? They are one of the foods I theorize might have been manna form heaven.
Hope tomorrow is better.
@ PnL ~ Thanks, I do feel a bit better. Reading some silly questions/responses on here has made for some much needed laughter. : )
@ Marina ~ They really are perfect when you’re feeling down! And that’s a damn good theory. : D
Thai. Tamarind duck, brown rice, and Pennyfarthing Pinot Noir. Take out.
vitaspelt spagehtti with Newman’s Own garlic marinara, sprinkled with parmesan
I had a chicken terryaki bowl. Yum!
& congrats on 1000, Mcbealer!
mmm. That Tofurky was good!
you’re making me want a tofurky astro!
Spinach/beet salad, some little spring roll slices with hot sauce and mustard, and
a warm macadamia-crusted goat cheese salad over romaine.
