What are some of your personal top favorite comedy albums?
I listen to my Ipod at work all day, about 8 hours straight. I hate constantly getting out my Ipod and flipping through songs. Drives me nuts and it doesn’t look very good when you are seen always pulling it out of your pocket. So, I put some comedy albums on there. I don’t have to mess with it and I’m laughing. What I have on there is “To Russell, My Brother Whom I Slept With”, some Kathy Griffin, and a little bit of Mitch Hedburg. I want to put together a solid playlist that will last me the whole day.
I don’t mind the dirty comics, what era it came from, etc. I really like listening to the stories. I guess the only person I don’t really mesh with is Dave Attell. Not sure why, I just don’t. Sorry. I know he’s funny, I’m not disputing that. Just not my kind of comic.
Some of my favorites are Lewis Black, George Carlin, Kathy Griffin, Smothers Brothers, Mitch Hedburg, Zach Galifianakis, and Steven Wright. Let me know which ones you have personally laughed at.

The best is a Bill Cosby one from the ‘70’s that was the inspiration for the Fat Albert cartoons.
Bill Cosby’s Fat Albert album from 1973.
Los Cochinos and Cheech and Chong by Cheech and Chong.
National Lampoon’s Radio Dinner.
Steve Martin Ramblin Man
My Mom liked Foster Brooks. Yes, he had a release.
Reality, What a Concept by Robin Williams
Eddie Murphy by Eddie Murphy
A Wild and Crazy Guy Steve Martin
The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart.
Richard Pryor
Steve Martin
Cheech and Chong
David Frye
The first three I mentioned owned the comedy awards for many years. David Frye was an impersonator, who was amazing with his Richard Nixon. His album “Richard Nixon Superstar!” had me in stitches for years, but people lost their taste for him after the fall of Nixon. It is all topical humor, which is to say a lot of references will be forgotten now.
@SuperMouse . . . be obsequious, purple, and clairvoyant
Everybody listed is great. I would add to that, Patton Oswalt (all of them) , Sam Kinnison (all of them, except for his last album. he really was funnier when he was on drugs), and Dave Attell’s Shank For The Memories.
@Judi . . . buck buck number one!
Buck buck! That was so so funny. I love it. I loved the revenge bit, too.
