How come when I try to "pin it" on Pinterest, my pins are not pinning?

When I tried to register on this site, I got an error message basically saying thank you for your interest, we will email you when we are ready to accept new members. Is the site functional yet?

Ah. That might not work if you don’t put the pin on a specific board.

@2davidc8: You either have to request an invite from the Pinterest team or be invited by someone you know whose already on Pinterest. I requested invite from Pinterest team and I got an invite within about 3 days or so.
