If you could only eat three fruits for the rest of your life, but they were always at their ripest, which three would you choose?

I love fruit. I recently had this conversation with my friend. I settled on peaches, raspberries, grapefruits. I think. I’m still hesitant about grapefruits. Peaches and raspberries are for sure though. I’m considering mangoes.
You?

clementines, bananas, apples.
Peaches, raspberries, bananas.
Strawberries, pomegranate and apples.
dang. I really want a pomegranate now
red bartlett pears
clementines from spain
black plums
A really good apple is hard to beat, and they’re so versatile that you could have them in many forms.
I guess grapes would have to be on the list just so I could enjoy the occasional glass of wine.
And if I could get a reliable supply of Gariguette strawberries, I think my joy would be complete.
Mangoes, kiwi, and blueberries.
Bananas, mandarines, strawberries
Strawberries, raspberries, anything ending in “berry”.
Pineapple, mango, banana.
1. Bananas
2. Banana shake
3. Banana ice cream
Cherries, Peaches, and a few small bananas
Clementines is a good one. I’d have an ulcer in my stomach in about a month though. I can eat 20 in a sitting. :(
Pineapple, nectarine, tangerine
@Earthgirl Nectarines can be PHENOMENAL. You are correct. I always forget about em. I’m pretty sure I still like peaches more though, if I had to choose between them.
deni That’s funny, I love them both if I can get good ones, but nectarines have the edge because I don’t like the peach fuzz much, lol.
@Earthgirl I don’t mind the fuzz, it makes me want to snuggle the peach. :) But I’ll tell you what, PEARS, on the other hand. I love pears and they almost made my top three except for that sometimes they have that TEXTURE!!!!! Not the skin, just the pear itself as a whole. Gritty but….not?!?!? I spent a half hour trying to explain it to someone the other day. Failed. STill trying though.
Ooh, ooh – I forgot white peaches. Can I swap that out for the clementines?
deni I think it depends on the type of pear. I love pears too, and I prefer the ones that have a firm flesh. I don’t like them really ripe. I think Bartlett pears are my favorite but I don’t think I have tried every variety. I love to carmelize them in the oven with sugar and put them in a salad!!! Mmmmm!!!
Blueberries, I was thinking pears too, mandarins.
@Earthgirl I only buy Danjou pears, though I’ve tried others. I don’t like the harder varieties. In fact i despise them. But Danjous are almost always excellent. You just have to know when to bite in. But STILL even if they are delicious they are susceptible to that horrific texture.
This is a hard one, but for today, I’m gonna go with mangoes, strawberries and nectarines.
Now I’m craving fruit
blackberries, kiwi, clementines
peaches, blackberries, guavas.
OMG! I can’t believe I left Ruby Red Grapefruit off of my list, but I’m not sure which one I would swap it out with, probably the mangoes, if I absolutely had to : (
@jazmina88 Blackberries. INteresting. I can’t get over their annoying pit. When I chew blackberries I look like a cow, since I’m trying to avoid chomping on the inner seed. I have sensitive teeth. :(
Speaking of the strawberry, 17th century writer Willian Butler said, ”“Doubtless God could have made a better berry, but doubtless God never did”
raspberry, pomegranate and pineapple
tangerines
honey crisp apples
dark cherries
Not a fan of fruit. I’d trade them in for veggies. Also, raspberries rock. Can’t think of anything else.
Pears, pomegranites, and apples.
If they weren’t always at their ripest, I’d have gone with something more pragmatic like bananas and apples.
Alas, I’m not a fan of really ripe bananas or apples. I prefer them both just a titch pre ripe.
I’m gonna go with peaches, mangos and black plums.
Or maybe pluots instead of plums…
Bananas, apples and melons. But, like @symbeline, I’d rather have veggies
Mangoes, bananas and avocados. <—See what I did there?
All comfort fruit for me.
Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries.
@mattbrowne A berry fan among us!
Ripe cantaloup is up there for me….mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. But….probably wouldn’t make the top 3.
I’ll trade the apples I picked last night for blackberries. I can’t live without blackberries. don’t know how I forgot about those
Ha, ha, jonsblond the apples you picked last night….
If I say grapes, does that mean I get to drink wine for the rest of my life? If so, grapes…
Otherwise, peaches, blackberries, and pears. The local produce here is so kickass. I can’t wait for summer.
@Haleth Are you in California? Every time I’m there visiting my brother I go to the farmers markets, middle of winter, and I’m like WHAT, THIS IS IN SEASON NOW?!?!?!?! AHHH.
@deni – When I was a kid in our garden we could harvest raspberries at one particular time in summer. I recently learned that there are now raspberry plants capable bearing fruit several times a year even in Germany. Wow.
@mattbrowne Thats wild. My mom had raspberry bushes in her garden and when they were in season she’d get buckets and buckets full. God it was so amazing.
Strawberries, raspberries and peaches.
