What is an unusual language? Because usually, people who speak other languages are speaking a language.

Since anything you choose in a non-Germanic or non-Romance language is going to be incomprehensible to your girlfriend you could even just make up nonsense syllables and get away with it. Call it Slovenian.

A simple poem written in the Cyrillic alphabet might be interesting but you are going to have to cut-and-paste something, Cyrillic script bears no resemblance to the printed alphabet. The same goes for Hebrew or Yiddish.

Why not get some Haiku written in Japanese and cut-and-paste that into your book, or copy it, if you like and then include an English translation on the same or next page.

The only other thing I could think of might be excerpts from something written in Middle English like Beowulf or the Canterbury Tales. The language is distinctly different from modern English.
