What are the best shirt colors for wearing with light gray khaki shorts?

@Blackberry you could do with working out whether this is a ‘warm’ or ‘cool’ grey. If it has a look of brownish/yellowish or pinkish tones in the grey, then they are warm; conversely, bluish or greenish is cool. Then, work on opposing colours. So, warm shorts with a cool top, say blue, dark grey, any shade of green etc; cool shorts with warmer top, like yellow, tan, red, pink etc. Flip flops? Hmm, well, tone with the shirt or top. Red for warm, green or blue for cool. I think that covers it. Of course, your own skin tones and hair colour also have to be taken into account…
Hawaiian multi-coloureds go with pretty much anything, by the way :)

Khaki is a neutral. You could really wear anything with it.

Don’t wear neutral colors. Bright colors would do well. A dark shade of blue as suggested above is also a good idea.

@marinelife is right. As khaki is a neutral colour you could wear nearly any other colour with it.

The best thing you can do is put on a bunch of shirts with the shorts and see how they look. Pick out your top 3 picks and wear those shirts with them.

My vote is for personal preference as they vary person to person.

It had better be pink, since my wife only bought me pink to go with khaki two pair of shorts.

Turquoise, teal, aquamarine, royal blue, navy blue, yellow orange, red-orange, bright pink
As said, stay away from neutrals, also pastels (too ice cream shoppe)
“AuntyDeb” has a good point about the warm vs. cool greys.
Flip flops same color family as top but don’t make them too matchy matchy!

Zigmund has a good question there. To me khaki is not grey. It may be greyish but it isn’t grey. Khaki would have other possibilities

Charcoal gray, dark heather, anything dark or bright would work. Black polo or henley would dress them up. On the beach wear them with raspberry, or turquoise. Of course-does light gray mean heather or ash?

@zigmund @Earthgirl Oh yeah, it’s grey, but I used khaki to describe the type of shorts they are. You know that typical cotton short, usually used for cargo shorts except without the pocket. I get the words confused sometimes lol.

I guess I should’ve added this before. If it’s not grey, then click on steel grey.
