Not the same old nightmares of being chased, falling etc, I mean really bad stuff that leaves you feeling drained the next morning and ruins your day….

Yes, but usually only once a month or so.
I’ve been fortunate enough to go without a nightmare since I was small. The way I figure, it’s only a matter of time.
Not so much lately. When I was in elementary school and again from high school through the majority of my undergraduate years, I suffered from some pretty vivid and terrible nightmares. Now I will have them on occasion, usually when I am stressed, but it’s no where near as awful as it used to be.
Yes, but the worst ones were as a child. Woke up screaming because it felt like my foot had been bitten off.
I have sleep paralysis which always comes with real bad ’‘nightmares’’ and ’‘hallucinations’’, but they don’t physically drain me. I mean I feel like shit right after being released, but the rest of the day goes as it normally does. I can spend a lot of time thinking of what I experienced though, but to me it’s positive and fun to think about. It’s kind of like puking, it sucks when it’s happening, but when you’re done it’s all like, yeah I guess that was pretty cool.
I’ve had some really awful nightmares, but they don’t come very often anymore. The dreams that leave me exhausted and drained the next day aren’t usually nightmares, though… just odd, surreal dreams where I was very busy all night. Like working or running in my dreams. Then I feel as if I haven’t even slept.
Yes, I get them once or twice a week.
I often have nightmares that people I love have died or are dying and that leaves me in a state all day. I have had a few dreams that have come true in the past and so, although I try not to read too much into them and treat the ones that have come true as coincidence, I am terrified whenever I have a bad one that it will come true.
I used to have severe insomnia. On the occasions I did catch a moment’s sleep, I had terrible nightmares. But that was a few years ago. I’m happy now.
