Is whining about whining considered - whining?
Somthing similar was asked a while ago, but I don’t find the answer truly satisfying to the conversation I want to have. The example I have to demonstrate my point is someone’s online dating profile. They complain about people being fake and crazy and out for money, etc, etc. If I were to put in my profile that I am sick of seeing people complain about all that stuff, is what I said whining?

Yes, if you were to write that it would be whining. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t say it. If it’s what you feel, it tells viewers something about you. When we whine, I think we generally are looking for confirmation that what we are saying is valid. The people who agree with you will be drawn to you, and those who don’t may well not be people you’d want to end up dating anyway. To quote a line from Rent, “I’m looking for baggage to go with mine.”
whining about whining is still whining simply because you’re still whining regardless of the topic you are whining about.
Yes. And so is whining about whining about whining.
I don’t know. Leave me alone.
Does whining about whining = whining
Does whining about whining = whining
whining = whining
@GladysMensch I like your method of deduction lol.
Whinin’ is a whinin’.
Sure. Is there a problem with that?
I use to whine about whiners who use to whine about about whiners drinking wine.
Now, we just all whine together.
All whining is whining. There is not a single type of whining that is not considered whining. Whether you are whining about whining or whining about not being able to whine, or whining about someone else whining, you are whining.
If it sounds like a whine, looks like a whine, reads like a whine….
@ALL But is it a JUSTIFIED whine?
Depends on which side of the whine you are on. To you, yes and I can see your point. To those you are whining about…probably not.
