I could not log onto Fluther for 2 days since getting this message Fluther is currently over capacity…
I’m thinking this is weird, has Fluther been hi-jacked? I’m sure the Fluther servers should be able to accommodate several thousand people at one time. So I go to bed and figure all will be well when I log on in the morning. But nooo! I still got the same message all day and all night Thursday.
Today I log on and the message is still there on my home PC (which I have been using exclusively for the last few days). Now upon logging onto my lap-top I see Fluther is up and running and has been all along (according to all the questions that have been asked). Also I Googled fluther on Twitter and Dr.J said “Fluther is down at the moment. Were working on it!” March 7
So what is happening!? Is my home PC corrupted? Why am I still getting the message on my home PC but not my laptop. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had to log off and delete my history to get it restored. Try that.
I got it for a bit, I just did something else, wathced a movie and it was good.
It was a problem with logging in to one of the Fluther servers. Andrew solved it.
@Adirondackwannabe thank you, thank you, thank you. It worked!
@XOIIO lol! I did other stuff too. While thinking wth happened to Fluther.
@janbb thanks for the update.:-)
I took too long to edit the question to show the screenshot. (Dammit!, I can’t get it to work.)
@AmWiser Oh my god *facepalm *
You are using the file path on your computer, I cant beleive that XD You have to upload it to a photo sharing site like photobucket.
I couldn’t log on the night before last, but, it was fine yesterday and today. Glitches happen.
I’ve had to log in 3 days in a row. It just kicked me out a bit ago and I had to log in again.
It’s still doing it for me, but it worked on my phone. I just fixed it, though, because instead of typing in the address, I googled it, then clicked on login.
If you were in fluther when it crashed it seems to tie up your computer until you get completely offline and then log back in.
Yep. I had to reboot. It seemed to suspend everything.
The link in the question points to a local file D:\Doh!.htm
If that file doesn’t exist on your D: drive, nothing will happen when you click on the link in the question.
It’s possible that Doh!.htm was delivered by a malicious site to some computers.
@HungryGuy No, this person saved the web page. This person doesn’t understand the difference between local files and online ones.
@XOIIO – Oh! The question means they got Fluther’s D’oh! page.
D’oh!
@HungryGuy *facepalm *
Two in one thread, thats a new record!
Okay you guys @HungryGuy & @XOIIO I get it now. Duh! forgive me for not ever hearing of or experiencing a Doh!.htm file before. Thankfully, there’s such a thing as you live and you learn. :-}
Fluther was completely down for a little while, then we had one server still down for a good while after that. Clearing your cache resets your browser, and it should all work after that.
I couldn’t get in either. @Auggie suggested using a link from an email to get in and that worked. I didn’t even notice I could log straight in this time!

As simple as a screwdriver….YES
I’m having trouble over here since yesterday.
I cleared my browsing history but still cannot access fluther except by a random back door entrance via a google search. Once in I cannot access “home” without getting the “over capacity” error page. Anyone else still having trouble?
@Coloma It crashed last night. Get completely out of everything and then try again.
@Coloma like when @Adirondackwannabe helped me out, I went into Internet Options and cleared everything out from there, restarted the computer and I also typed in the web address www.fluther.com. Good luck!
Okay gang…we shall see. :-)
Well…just deleted my browsing history again, restarted my laptop and still, the only access into fluther is via the web address and then, clicking on Saboteurs’ profile that is listed under fluther. lol All other methods still result in the “over capacity” error page.
Saboteur is a portal into the fluther dimension. haha
I am having the same problem, I can access Fluther only on my laptop, not my usual computer. I have deleted history, cookies and everything else. I can’t log out on my desktop because there’s no log-out button. I just get the “Over Capacity” error. It doesn’t even work if I type in the web address or a different page.
We don’t know why this is happening, but we’re working on it. Sorry for the frustration!
I haven’t been able to log on since yesterday, but I use Firefox. I just thought of trying now with IE and it works…weird. I thought Fluther was totally dead since yesterday lol.
Also, IE sucks. I hate this thing.
Edit; I used the backdoor trick…lol, backdoor…and now it works on FF. So it’s just the homepage that doesn’t work?
Fluther just booted me out again. I had to reboot to ‘fix’ my Internet after it happened as it suspended everything again. I came back just to see if Fluther was down and had to login again.
36 hours and counting over here and still the same. No matter what I do, including logging in/out, it will not allow me normal access via the web address and the “over capacity” page still comes up. I cannot navigate to “home.” Any updates on whether this phenomenon is being investigated or, are we stuck on the fringe of fluther indefinitely?
It’s painfully slow today. Lurve isn’t sticking yet again. :/
@SpatzieLover
Yes! I was going to mention the painfully slow mode too! lol
Oh no…too many great minds have caused a breakdown in the gray matter of fluther! ;-P
^had to hit those repeatedly to get lurve to stick :/
@SpatzieLover
Haha, well, at least this problem is cause for some playful discussion. ;-D
One of our servers was down earlier today, which accounts for the slowness and un-sticky lurve. We got that fixed, though.
Still not sure what’s going on with the log-in/home page problems some people are experiencing. But the guys are aware of it. Thanks for your patience!
Yes, still the same, coming in the creative back doors. Hopefully the problem will be solved soon. :-)
@augustlan – Fluther has been pretending to be a yo-yo lately. I hope you get the problem resolved, once and for all, soon.
Me, too. It’s very frustrating!
Monday morning 3–19 and things are back to normal! Yay!
Was able to access fluther via it’s link and I can now navigate home without getting the worm eating sea kings “over capacity” page. :-D
Thanks to the fluther powers that be!
Dude, it does work! I hadn’t tried for days. I was all backdooring it anshit. Well, it’s great that it’s fixed. :)
Yay! Thanks for letting us know it’s working!
