My son found Ben Folds and I have to say that I really like his music.
(I found The Black Keys via the Fluther chat room – awesome recommendation!! Sadly, I can’t remember who I was chatting with to thank them.)
The Civil Wars, as the beautiful water goddess mentioned, are AMAZING.
A lot of the mellow music I listen to usually doesn’t have lyrics, but I listen to Jazeboo, Alpha-X, and stuff like Jose Padilla.
I’d like to know what anyone thinks of this stuff if you listen to it.
@Blackberry and @marinelife and @WillWorkForChocolate Nice! but maybe a bit too chill.
(Mellow, for me, is listen to something besides Tool Nine Inch Nails, Puscifer, A Perfect Circle, System of a Down, Stabbing Westward, Queens of the Stoneage, Korn, The Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Jane’s Addiction, Rage Against the Machine,....)
Hurts has some great music also. And as always, anything by Muse is fantastic.
@syz You’re not feeling the vibes, man. :P
@WillWorkForChocolate I like Uprising, and I love The Widow by The Mars Volta (they’re clumped together in my head ‘cause I found them at about the same time. That, and 30 Seconds to Mars.)
Haven’t ever been able to get the hang of Neon Tree, Panic! At the Disco, Airborne Toxic Event, Foster the People, or Vampire Weekend.
Richard Hawley has a nice voice. Listen to him sing Cole’s Corner
Try this one. I couldn’t find any links, but his name is Matt Pryor, from Boston.
You might like Fleet Foxes, My Morning Jacket, and Belle & Sebastian.
@boffin Good one! “I Wish I Had An Angel” may be the best love song ever written.
I’m listening to this and this right now. :)
