[NSFW] What is the most fitting punishment for this transgression?

Asked by laureth (27211points) March 14th, 2012

Inspired by this news story.

A police officer was caught having sex in his cop car, because his radio button was stuck on “transmit,” and every sound he made was broadcast to everyone who happened to be monitoring that channel at the time. He was relieved of his duty.

However, this situation is filled with comic potential, and I’m sure the good people of Fluther can come up with some fitting disciplinary action for this unfortunate (or fortunate) officer of the law. So I thought I’d ask in Social…

I should say, “Allegedly.”

Give him advice on how to be less arresting in future.

And let him off with a severe warning.

Make him listen to a really boring lecture on a radio? Lol.

His colleagues could replace the light bar on his car by this.

It seems to me that situations like this are best dealt with publicly. Anything while on duty that is not duty related is unacceptable. Maybe having to sit at the mall or in a public park with a sign around his neck.
On the other hand, a man who held the highest office in the land did the same thing while on duty and then lied about it. He pretty much went unpunished.
Not to diminish the wrongness of what this officer did, but all public officials from the President down to the court bailiff should be held accountable to the same standard.

Broadcast it on the local radio station.

Was the dash camera turn around to show the inside of the cruiser?

Make the situation into a musical stage play.

He should be interrogated while getting a striptease, then publicly graded on his sexual performance in front of a live audience a la American Idol, despite it going against the eighth amendment.

Always assume the microphone is on. LOL.

Honestly, I think being fired is enough. I don’t think he needs to be publicly humiliated. He didn’t kill anyone or steal. Well, I guess if he was on duty it is kind of like stealing, being paid while not really working, but still, the guy is probably embarrassed enough.

Make him clean the seats of all the cruisers.

“He was relieved of his duty.” – I’d say.

Replace the siren on his car with Barry White hits.
They should have put out an APB on his exploits…..“all units be advised, “Anal Police Bonking in progress, proceed with caution…. over”

I think he should be restored to his position (or perhaps another position—consult the Kama Sutra) and given an award for his innovative approach to fuckin’ with the citizenry.

I dunno. Seems to me the more elaborate or creative his punishment, the greater the certainty he’s going to get show on Fox.
