When was the last time you took a day to pamper yourself? What did you do?
As I sit here enjoying my breakfast on my porch, watching the little bees swerve around flowers and listening to the birds sing, I have decided to pamper myself for the day.
Whether you’re retired or a busy mom, a business man or a young and ready teenager, it’s always great to treat yourself. Most don’t take time to appreciate themselves anymore.
When was the last day you sat back, relaxed, and did everything you could to make a great, peaceful day for yourself? What did you do?

Get a massage, read comic books, nap under a tree. All three in one day is a good day of pampering.
I did a spring cleanup in the woods in my back yard, seeded the lawn, planted some bulbs, started more seedlings, cooked a nice Patty’s day dinner, went for a bike ride and walked the dog on this crazy 80 degree day in March, then lit some candles and took a jacuzzi. I spoiled myself rotten all day!
It was too long ago to even remember :(
Yay Kate…good for you!
Actually I just had a pampering day on Thursday.
Stormy week and I had nothing to do so I spent the day starting in the afternoon with a happy brownie, then a long bath/shower, shaved all the parts and applied a hair mask.
Then did a full body hemp oil annointment after my shower, a mini-facial, mask and moisturize, and put on some comfy PJ’ and then made myself an amazing grilled shrimp dinner with giant garlic buttered sauteed shrimp and asparagus.
Happy Brownie enhanced I then had a lovely dessert of blackberry compote and lemon sorbet and settled in to watch a DVD.
It was a great pampering day!
@Cruiser Sounds great! You east coasters got the California weather we had been having for weeks. I pruned back a bunch of my plants prematurely and now we have had freezing rain and snow for the last 6 days. I think things are okay but I really got sucked into our mock spring. lol
Oh yeah, I sat in my hot tub too, in the pouring freezing rain with a dorky shower cap on. haha It was awesome, the contrast of freezing rain biting my body and then sinking into the depths of hot water bliss. :-D
@Coloma The radio is awash with master gardeners cautioning us in the midwest to resist the urge to plant anything just yet. Hard not to with 2 days in a row of 80 degrees in the middle of March?? WTH??
A long time since I pampered myself in the way you describe, but on Tuesday last I indulged myself for the day – I walked around my town taking photographs of anything colourful (eg a blue door, a bucket of yellow daffodils for sale etc etc) and then organised them into colour groups matching the rainbow song, then posted the album to facebook… It was great fun and everyone loves it! (Very effective – and I took almost 200 photos!)
When I was 15 I spent the entire weekend on a wankathon, I had blisters on the palm of my hand & localised chaffing around my tail, but hey…...it was worth it at the time.
When my husband and I travel for his racing I usually upgrade us to a nicer hotel than where the majority of our friends stay. Not 5 star or anything, the tracks are almost never in vacation spots, it is almost always kind of out in the middle of nowhere. It is the difference between a days in and a courtyard in most of the time. A month ago in FL we stayed at a really nice Residence inn, the kichen was nicer than my own, two bedroom suite with a great view. I was so happy. I went for swim one evening, water was perfect temperature. The races aren’t really vacations, but I try if I can to take moments that feel like vacation during them. We went a little out of our way to go to one of our favorite delis and have our favorite meals and cake. The shopping area was wonderful where the restaurant was located, the little break was a total pleasure.
Today. I spent the first half of my day watching movies with my daughter (we watched Puss and Boots and Jack and Jill. cute movies. I wasn’t disappointed), then I spent the rest of the day watching The Walking Dead marathon, then the finale. I was playing an online game for half the day too. Laziness = pampering imo
The only thing that would have completed the day would be a massage and a trip to the Chinese Buffet.
I don’t remember having a day of pampering in years… the last one I remember is when I was pregnant 10 years ago and got a spa treatment as a gift.
In 1½ months, after I am finished with all my MEd. coursework, I have a gigantic day for me planned…. oohhhweee!
Nothing comes to mind.. :/
