How often do you hurt yourself?

I’m not talking about serious injuries. I hurt myself several times a day. I have about 5 cuts on my hands and forearms at the moment, I have a bruise on my shin because I hit myself on my desk the other day.
Is this normal?

Never with intent, but quite regularly nevertheless.
Yes I do. I always have bruises and cuts on my hands. Just because I am clumsy.
About once every couple of weeks. Last time, I gouged my forearm with the door handle.
All the time. I’m such a klutz. Plus, today, I ate the latke ruben even though my teacher told me it would be bad.
I’m super clumsy, so I often hurt myself (not majorly) several times a day, purely by accident.
I am extremely careful around knives, and frequently ask other family members to help with slicing or cutting things.
Just yesterday, my finger got caught in the mesh screen protector on our door, and I almost broke my finger. Now it’s bruised from the pinch.
I have several cuts on my hands from the edge of lids (not the sharp ones, the regular plastic lids). They cut me when I turn them and my hand slips.
I often miss the step when I’m coming in the house and turn my ankle, or bend one of my toes.
@Adirondackwannabe It was like the one on the top left in this photo. We had the door propped open to both keep the dogs in and let the air circulate. I ran my arm into the door handle on the way back to bed.
All. The. Time.
My work world is sharp, hot and hard. I tend to just throw my body into the fray and trust its healing powers. I took the end off my middle finger on a table saw last year, about halfway down the fingernail, and I’ll be damned if it didn’t grow right back. I’m constantly discovering wounds that I have no recollection of inflicting. When I’m working, I just ignore the owies.
Glad to know I don’t have a brain tumor or something horrible like that.
@marinelife Ouch. I sleepwalk a lot. I know how those feel.
I seem to have lost all awareness as to where my head is in space and seem to repeatedly bang it on stuff that really I should have avoided (cupboards, shelves, etc). At the moment my head has several minor cuts and 1 large cartoon like bump with a nice skin tear and some super glue holding it together.
I am so clumsy, so I am constantly getting bruised and cut. I am constantly running into counters or doors, slipping on my floor, or finding some other odd way of injury.
I very rarely hurt myself and am old as dirt. I guess because I spend too much time in this chair!
At least once a week. As soon as one bruise begins healing, a new one will pop up somewhere else. I don’t always notice when it happens either. I haven’t accumulated as many cuts as I used to, but bandages were a regular accoutrement at one point.
Multiple times a day. I am constantly walking into shit, like the edge of a doorway, or the corner of something. I frequently manage to bang my knee on the desk, or hit my elbow on something, too. Bleh.
Remember: Safety is no accident!
I try very hard to avoid all injuries. Even while gardening I wear gloves, knee pads and eye protection. Of course I use ear protection when operating noisy equipment.
However I do injure myself about once or twice every few years by over exercising especially running or doing pull-ups. I get greedy and or don’t warm up well enough and then get injured. It is harder to avoid exercise and sports injuries now that I’m 61 years old. This older body is on a steady decline and so hard to tell what I can safely do. Even though I’ve exercised daily 1 to 2 hours consistently for >30 years, an easy workout a couple years ago would tear me up pretty good today.
Rarely.
When I worked in retail I often had small cuts and tears on my hands. Now that I don’t that is not a problem.
I almost never have a bruise. But, I don’t bruise easily.
I’m constantly covered in bruises. (My husband jokes that I look like a crack whore. (his words, not mine :P)
Is this intentional? If so I think you should question why you do this.
Daily, sometimes several times a day. My skin is not very supple so I can tear it easily, even sticking my hand in my jeans pocket. Don’t bruise all that easily though.
