What would be the best glue to secure a fake flower to a barrette?

I am considering making flower barrettes for my daughter’s upcoming birthday party, as favors. I saw a tutorial on-line, suggesting hot glue gun. I know sometimes with hot glue gun glue, it dries up and becomes brittle. Also, it’s not always the strongest.
What would be the best glue to secure a fake flower to a barrette?
