A stranger actually looked me in the eye, smiled, and said hello back to me after I said hi to them.
February 14th, i think you can put one and one together to figure out who they were to me and what they said.
Just yesterday, my son’s girlfriend came out of their room with a package of throat lozenges and two DayQuill’s and handed them to me. She said in a soothing voice, “Oh, I hear you are sick, maybe this will help.” It was sooooo sweet.
A student who was leaving the library quite a long time ahead of me held the door open and waited for me. It was a nice gesture.
I thanked my choir director for being such a joy to work with and got a hug in return.
@Blackberry Making eye contact and connecting-truly a lost art.
@King_Pariah I love valentine’s day.
@YARNLADY Are you still feeling ill? May you feel better soon.
@janbb It’s not just the student’s action, it’s also the acknowledgment.
@Sunny2 Hugs are always good.
Kudos to all!
Now for my experience:
I live in a small bedroom community. When I first “married” into it people waved, in passing, to everyone else. Since time passes there will always be a turn-over in population, and a reduction of people who have watched parents wave at each other. It is such a heart warming gesture when it appears out of no where. It was a passing gentleman, that I hardly know. The smile that came with it, brightened my whole day, probably my whole week.
2 weeks ago when my mail carrier brought my shipment of gourmet organic cheese to my front door along with the rest of my mail. Always nice out here in the hills when I have to drive a ¼ mile to my mail box. :-D
My children got together and bought me something that I’ve wanted for a long time, and I know how much they would have paid for it, and it wouldn’t have been cheap!
A former coworker called me up with news of a job opportunity. I decided not to go for it but it meant a lot to me that she said I was “the first person she thought of” for the position. She is very talented and the position was to replace her as she was leaving the company.
My dad was out walking his dog and he took a picture of a horse and sent it to me. I love animals and it was a particularly lovely horse. It made me smile!
@Leanne1986
I just bought a new digital camera and have been taking pictures of all the animals over here. Jeez, how many cute cat, goose, sheep and horse pictures can one take? haha
I sat up in my yard the other evening waiting for cute micro-farm moments, like my goose and the neighbors sheep who have this bizarre attachment to each other. The sheep and my goose spend hours nose to nose at the fence completely ignoring their own kind. Inter-species relationships. lol
@Coloma Funnily enough, my boyfriend was telling me today that he would like to go on a photography course because he wants to be able to take really decent pictures of animals (he’s already quite a naturally talented photographer). I have asked him to come and take some pictures of dog training classes to put on the website so perhaps he’s feeling the pressure!
Two weeks ago I sprained my foot so I’m currently hobbling around with a walking stick. Today, a stranger offered me her seat on a crowded bus. I was very grateful for that.
When I was in a wheelchair I had many peopleopen the door for me. It was terrific of them. Whenever I start to feel like all people are worthless, I just remember them. I think that most people are mainly good, we just need a chance to show it!
There are some great people out there. Of course, you all saw the greatness and are acknowledging it, which makes all of you superb, as well.
