Does it throw you out when Flutherites change their avatar?

Yes, playthebanjo’s recent change was particularly jarring for me. I guess because the new look is so different.

On the other hand, I can’t say anything, because I changed mine. (I liked my assigned one, but then I saw someone else with my “face” and I was outraged.) :)

yes; for example when delirium changed her avatar i had to take a double take. i see nothing wrong with the changing of an avatar, it somehow lets you see more of the real person.

I admit it does throw me off a bit, I get used to them. I think there should be a Fluther statute that makes it a criminal act, punishable by the loss of 1000 lurve.

i like changing mine like once a month or less, keep it fresh

It throws me off pretty bad actually because I do get used to peoples pictures, only because I don’t even look at the names.

Yea it throws me off when people have new ones, but i still change mine every month or two.

@Marina: Sorry it threw you off! The dang image was so small I wasn’t sure if anyone but me knew what it was. LOL I do get sick of the same image pretty quick though…I really wish there was a fluther avatar image gallery where you could see an enlarged version.

I’ll admit I preferred the old one. He looked like such a friendly chap. There’s something Clockwork Orange about this new one of yours….it’s a bit unsettling.

It’s a jolt when people change theirs, and also strange for me to find others with mine. So, perhaps a change is due.

The fluther gods might not like it, but you can check out this. I often use it to see the images larger.

@breedmitch I, for one, thank you immensely. For the life of me I could not figure out what your avatar was, it looks definitely like a cat, but with some kind of bizarre, huge tongue hanging out. You wouldn’t believe how many times I’ve peered at your avatar, close in, zoom out, close in, zoom out. What a relief.

Nope, even after a hard reload I still get “404 – Not Found”. You might still have the index page in your cache, or maybe I’m doing it wrong.
