How do you entertain yourself when you're alone?
I really enjoy reading, especially plays. I like to imagine myself acting one of the parts or directing it.
I also like surfing the web and reading blogs. I spend time on Fluther.
I don’t watch television. It’s just not my thing, but I do put on the occasional DVD.
There’s a whole world of activities available. How do you keep yourself entertained during your solitary times?

Like you, I read and play around on the computer, mostly. I might use the time to catch up on a show I like, but my husband doesn’t (Glee, for instance). Oh, and naps!
Being in England, it all depends on the weather.
If it’s fair weather, I might do something outdoors (I like getting the air), so walking or climbing around the streets, hills, and trees of where I live. Perhaps I might walk down to market. Do some photography.
If it’s really good weather, it absolutely must be taken advantage of. Today is 18°C (65°F), which means the entire day will be spent laying in the sun… perhaps a barbecue.
If the weather is relatively uninspiring, or poor, I enjoy reading (esp sci-fi & history), graphic design, watching documentaries or classic/art films (esp from Japan), mostly just educating myself about everything as much as possible. If I have to, I do some Japanese practice, or chemistry problems. Oh, and I occasionally play one of the video games I don’t find boring.
I watch some TV, mostly the news and documentaries. I also like listening to music and reading. I spend a lot of time on the computer but in the better weather like today I will go out on my bicycle.
I like to sing show tunes naked in the garage, the acoustics are fabulous in there, they really are.
I read, watch movies, and occasionally give vent to my artistic instincts by doing craft projects.
I also spend some time on the web every day and have been writing a lot more.
I have my TV shows that I like, but my husband doesn’t (mostly from HGTV) that I watch when he’s not around.
I am always reading a book or two.
I Fluther.
Fluther, cooking, TV, occasional gardening.
Video games, movies, and reading. I’m finishing up A Short History of Nearly Everything so I can start Infidel.
I spend some time on the computer, some time reading, and some time watching tv. Sometimes I’ll go out and go for a walk or go to a store just to look around.
Screwing around on the computer. Watching DVD’s (especially history and science programs). Listening to music or Phil Hendrie.
Usually I’m not alone.
When I get the rare opportunity to be alone I walk, workout, catch up on a magazine, read a book, clean, spend time gardening or just plain ol’ puttering in the yard on a project, do a crafty thing I’ve been wanting to do, decorate for a season/holiday…the list goes on.
Yes, read, play on the computer, enjoy a happy brownie and get all creative, rearrange my house, clean the garage, go on pruning sprees around my property and yard. Sit in my hot tub, write, fluther, stay up waay too late just having fun around my house. I am very good at entertaining myself, rarely am I bored. Play with the cats and the laser pointer.
Pretend I’m a pirate and search for booty.
I read, catch up on e-mail and/or exercise.
If it’s in the daytime I’ll take a bus or train and go somewhere, just for the fun of it. Even just wandering around the city for a bit. If it’s the evening I usually browse the web, Fluther and play Second Life.
TV, what TV?
I read, play video games, browse computer/online stuff, walk my dog, snuggle my dog, talk to my dog ..lol. I go cycling. I dance in my living room. I draw, play guitar/musical keyboard, listen to music. I clean. Sometime just staring at something while deeply thinking is enough. I don’t usually watch TV when I’m alone. I rarely get bored ..I can find almost anything to do with my time.
Fluther. Reading. Writing. Music.
Oh man, how don’t I…’‘raises an eyebrow’’
Hum. Movies, video games, reading, drawing, messing on the net.
I read books.
I Fluther and surf the web.
I like movies but I don’t watch TV.
Clean up the house, gardening, crochet, and if hubby is home I’ll jump his bones.
I can’t really say. I’m never alone long enough to do much that would count as entertainment. Farting possibly?
@ucme I wonder why you have to be naked . . .
I would have thought that garage music would be more appropriate!
Unless you are singing songs from ‘Lexus Miserables’, ‘Carts’, and others I fail to remember.
Make up your own accent and language. Use it at the next party.
