People get banned from fluther?

I don’t think you can get banned, can you? You have to do something really bad I’m sure, or say something really bad…..

But then you can join under a different name, no?

Yes people do get banned, but for spamming and disrespecting the site. It’s not like it randomly happens.

Some people were banned a while back for creating fake accounts in order to artificially inflate their fluther score, (now called lurve). However, since the issue wasn’t publically addressed before the members were banned, they were all reinstated and a public note was written regarding the issue.

I am sure people have been banned for various other deeds, but fluther has a reputation of being educated and well versed, thus most blatant disrespect and tolling is kept to a minimum

In most of the cases where you might wonder if a user has been banned, they simply stopped using Fluther for other reasons. To answer your question, only moderators can view if a user has been banned or not.
