What do you think of the latest Pedro Almodovar film, The Skin I Live In?

Asked by mazingerz88 (29220points) March 29th, 2012

I have seen about 5 or 6 Almodovar movies. Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down, All About My Mother, Talk To Her, Bad Education, Volver and now, The Skin I Live In.

I remember his films to be unique. Some of them may have been inspired by other people’s works but they do have that original appeal, that Almodovar touch.

I guess my question really here is, even if his past characters were “bigger than life” they were not as askewed as this last one portrayed by Antonio Banderas. So, in case you have seen it, do you think my opinion on the matter to be sound? Do you think Almodovar overreached with this one?

I have seen all of Pedro Almodovar’s films except this last one. :-(

I love his work.

Since I live in the middle of nowhere, the film didn’t reach here. I will have to search it out to watch it. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.
