After the kill pronouncement question and someone answered that he/she pronounced it banana I thought it a good moment to ask how we (possibly) pronounce the name of this greenish yellow fruit differently?
After all, it has three times the vowel A in it, so there coud be several ways to say it.
I spell it buh-naa-naa.

Bah-nan-nah. But, close to buh-nan-nah. Either sounds right to me.
Using the International Phonetic Alphabet, I’d say bənaːnə. Yeah, I just don’t think that I have any idea what a-ah-uh-aa sounds like in your heads.
I answer to either, but I say buh-nah (rhymes with hat)- nuh.
@fundevogel – that is so funny, all of his videos are. I am not sure if I understand it but I don’t care, it makes me laugh anyhow! Thanks for sharing.
And yes that is the way I pronounce it but I am probably the only one is Australia who does.
@rooeytoo Not really anything to get, it’s just weird. I’m glad it amused you.
But seriously: Buh-nah-nuh.
Only the internet can make a bunch of random people type the phonetics of the word banana repeatedly.
@Black-beh-ree Yew awre coh-rekt
@fundevogel – they remind me of the senseless but funny jokes of yesteryear, such as: What’s purple and rides a white horse? The Lone Eggplant.
I guess I just have a strange sense of humor!
