Which student's altruism made Rosie O'Donnel's jaw drop? (R.O's original show)

This was years ago, on Rosie’s original show. The high school student was nominated as one of most extraordinary and intelligent people. She was raising her siblings and going to school. When Rosie surprised her with the scholarship, (I don’t know who the benefactor was) she said she would rather it go to someone incapable of working because she can work.
