Men: what do you think about the color pink on women?

Asked by JLeslie (65790points) April 10th, 2012

Pink clothing. Pink pink. Not hot pink, more of a baby pink. Any opinion? Do you think some women can pull it off and some can’t? Do you never like it? Is it a little girl color? If a woman is heavy with a round face do you think Miss Piggy? Is pink never sexy? Or, very sexy?

I have always worn pink sweaters and t-shirts and find it a color that works with my skin tones.

I think Pink is sexy and screams femininity.

Neutral, summer fun impression. Neither sexy nor frigid. No pig implications.

Now that I consider it, only red and black have implications. All of the other colors are about the same impact.

It depends on the pink, some are heavenly some are horrid. I wouldn’t like a pink house or a pink sofa or car, but I like pink shirts and I have a pink baseball cap and I do have some hot pink running shorts.

I think anyone can wear dusty pale pinks, male female, sexy or no.

It’s not just the pink, it’s also the skin tones. i juts know it it looks better on some than others, but I don’t know enough about ‘colors’ to tell which works.

Don’t like it. Then again, I like tomboys, so I’m biased.

Very feminine and very sexy, usually. It’s when it’s overdone is when it becomes a big turn off – pink dress with the pink bag and heels and pink sunglasses…no bueno.

It depends on the woman, some women look great in pink, some don’t.

I like pink but in moderation. Also pink looks bad with auburn hair, but who am I?

I try not to have any pink in my life.

It depends on the skin and hair tone – I was always one of those people who couldn’t wear pink without looking ill. People with any hint of red in their hair should avoid it. And people who look bad in pink usually look better in yellow (and vice-versa).

What I do dislike is adult women who get obsessed with pink stuff to the exclusion of any other colour. You know the sort. They’ll wear nothing else, drive a pink car, all their gadgets are pink, and most of it says “Princess” on it somewhere. I think that’s the sort of thing they should have grown out of before the age of ten.

I like me some pink underwear, it’s very sexy on the wife too.

Interesting. So many of you like pink. I am pretty much like @Jeruba, not fond of wearing pink. I do have one garment that has some pink in a pattern, because someone talked me into it. I think my coloring looks fine with pink, but I just cannot wear the color, and when I see it on another adults I almost never think it looks great.

I asked the men, because my husband does comment how some women look like Miss Piggy in pink. Both the hostesses, Caroline Rhea and Allison Sweeney, who work(ed) on the TV show Biggest Loser wear a lot of pink, and my husband says it every time they wear it. They kind of have rounder faces, a squarish nose, blond hair, it is that “type” that he always associates with the muppet puppet. How awful right? But, he does not dislike pink in general on women.

I’ve always been anti-pink myself, but..I did buy a pink tank top last summer and got a lot of complements on the color, I also have a pale pink shawl that I love that goes with one of my white sun dresses and looks really feminine and pretty. Beinf a fair skinned blonde, oink is a complementary color on me.
A touch of pink can be flattering, looking like a wad of Bazooka Bubblegum is not. lol
