Toddlers don’t need iPad apps.
Hopefully this link can help you @happybird. And welcome to Fluther!
@tom_g then we might as well take iPads and computers out of schools too. You do know preschoolers use computers now, right? Way to greet a new user.~
My son LOVES “Itsy Bitsy”. I think it’s the only reason he likes going to my Mac-Obsessed friend’s house.
My nephew made an obstacle course outside with chairs a sheet and items he found in the tool shed: 2×4s, broom handles. sticks, a piece of plywood. The kids love the adventure -and they get exercise and improved coordination at this critical time in their lives.
None. There’s too much development going on with toddlers to sit them down with an ipad. Seriously!
@everyone – Not a whole lot of opportunity to build pillow forts when you’re waiting for your meal at Beef O’Brady’s, and I need only direct you to the myriad questions about toddlers screaming in restaurants and waiting rooms to make the point that Dad’s iPad might come in handy for a momentary distraction.
No one’s chaining their kids to an iPad 24/7, but it can be an enriching and educational experience at the same time as it provides a service to non-breeders in public places.
@PurpleClouds and the rest of the party poopers. Can’t we be helpful to the OP? We can always start a new question to debate the good and bad of allowing a toddler the use of an iPad. You’d probably get a lot of responses instead of getting off topic here. Debating it here without actually answering the question is a good way to run a new user off.
An ultimate, eco and health friendly toy & iPad app for toddlers is Totoya Creatures. All my friends kids love tham and can play with them for long hours. It’s a fluffy iPad can and an application for it. You can tap it, it talks back and gives funny voices.
You can download the app for Free here: Totoya Creatures
There is an extra parenting mode in it: If you connect it with your other apple device you can use it as a walkie talkie, or as a babywatcher! But if you just download the app itself it’s also a good toy as it’s own.
