When was the last time you acted a little crazy, but felt perfectly justified at the time?

Asked by Imadethisupwithnoforethought (14682points) April 12th, 2012

I was discussing with a friend tonight poor behavior of her ex’s, and some of her criticisms seemed all to familiar.

I act crazy every day and it feels justified to me because I am who i am. The “sane” people can take it or leave it :)

What is ‘crazy’? For me that would be being downright silly and just goofing about.

The rest of your post suggests people have behaved in a boorish or unreliable way.

What does crazy mean to you in this context?

The question was spawned after self reflection upon behavior that, in retrospect, seems a little boorish. But I didn’t want to limit the posters replying

boorish by your own standards or by your idea of what is generally acceptable and not?

Thank you @Imadethisupwithnoforethought. I will have to think on it. I know I haven’t been ‘silly’ enough for too long. It does a person good to be downright silly every now and then.

Boorish – have to think on that one.

lol well it is what it is right?

One thing I have observed about you @Imadethisupwithnoforethought is you seem to be a fairly reflective man and willing to consider your own foibles and to act on what you find. I don’t think we can’t do much more than that.

I jumped up and down waving a ticket at a meeting of very intelligent professors, artists and their friends at a university special event. There were some 700 people in an lecture hall. I don’t think anybody noticed particularly. I was kind of amazed that I jumped up and down without even thinking about it. I wouldn’t have thought I could do that. Good for me!

I wish I read my posts more carefully… “I don’t think we CAN do much more than that”. I am sure you knew what I meant @Imadethisupwithnoforethought

What was the ticket for @Sunny2?

I have lost my damn mind on several occasions, when I was so angry I could spit. Every time, it feels right while I’m in the moment. Afterward, there is usually an apology. Being angry is allowed. Acting like an ass about it… not so much.

Isn’t crazy normally crazy because it seems so justified at the time?

Sunny2's avatar

@Bellatrix It was a ticket for an exhibit. It was given to me so I could be first in line. At the large lecture, a man was asking, as we entered, if each person had a ticket (which was not really required.) I waved mine and said, “I do! I do!” and jumped up and down. Just being silly.

Sunny2 I love that! Jumping for joy is always a good thing…as long as it’s not shadenfreude

Last time I behaved badly and was a little crazy was a week ago. I was having a heated engagement/altercation with my husband and I actually stomped my feet!
if you’re mad and you know it stomp your feet, if you’re mad and you know it stomp your feet!!! If you’re mad and you know it then your face will surely show it, if you’re mad and you know it…well, you know the rest…psychologists call it “owning your anger” lol
