"A student of behaviour psychology Conditioned himself to stick to his studies" Can you direct me to similar prose? [Details inside].

A student of behaviour psychology
Conditioned himself to stick to his studies
He grew tired of these routines and tried to drop them
But he was caught in his own trap and couldn’t stop them

I am very fond of the lyrics from songs of the Crash Test Dummies.
To me they are fun.
Do you know of any (English written) writers that use similar wit, be it in short stories or maybe also songs?

Another example (Two Knights And Maidens): lyrics and video.
And one more (He Liked To Feel It): lyrics and video

James Thurber comes to mind. And if you can find it, read THe Groucho Letters: his wit – and the scholars that wrote to him – are amazing.

Chris de Burgh comes to mind – try the albums Crusader and Spanish Train.
