Would you expect rioting? Unrest? Legal challenges to the verdict?

I hate to sound blazé, but I am so. over. this. case.
Maybe it’s just too soon after the emotional turmoil I allowed myself over Casey Anthony. But seriously, Florida, stop churning out murderous assholes already. Sheesh.
I hope theere are no riots and that the citizens will be moved to force their legislators to repeal the stupid stand your ground law.
Honestly, I don’t care what happens. Since there are such intense feelings over this case, since everyone is so riled up and have this mob mentality, I imagine some people will take the law into their own hands and return the favor, exactly what this guy did to Martin, which would be an extremely foolish thing to do.
There will be riots, and the right wing will spin the coverage of them as proof that black people are nothing but out-of-control criminals. They will also spin the riots as justification for the “stand your ground” law.
It does worry me a bit. If they held the trial in another jurisdiction, one where the legal system wasn’t already seen as inept and biased, it might be ok. But if the same legal system that let him walk the night of the killing essentially says, “See? We were right in the first place.” I foresee some trouble.
There might be racialized conflict. More than usual.
I think that if Mr. Zimmerman is found not guilty, then all hell is gonna break loose in Sanford (about 45 miles from me), if not other places. Come on, with such hatemongers (against white only, naturally) as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, the riot they are warring for is bound to come to fruition.
