General Question

What's the name of this song?

Asked by give_seek (1459points) April 23rd, 2012

The song was popular in the early 90’s. It was by a boy R&B Band like Hi-Five, Shai, or Troop.

The beginning of the song went: All my friends keep telling me that you look unhappy with your lover.

The chorus went something like: If I ask you, would you try to understand?

It was the kind of tune you could dance to and one of my favorites back then. If it’s on iTunes, I’d love to buy it, but I can’t remember the name.

Thanks for your help.

I don’t know the answer to this, but I can tell you that I’ve had great success with determining the authorship of many songs by googling the lyrics.

I just gogled “All my friends keep telling me that you look unhappy with your lover” but nothing came up. Are you sure those are the exact lyrics?

This(U.S.) link gives the Billboard R&B singles week by week for 1991. Look over the list and maybe something will trigger a recollection. Then scroll all the way down to the bottom and you can pick any year you want to see the week by week listing of the Billboard R&B singles for that year.

@FutureMemory I’m sure those are the lyrics. Unfortunately, Googling them didn’t work for me either. :)

@Kayak8 I’ll check out the link. Thank you!
