It can be used for behavioral changes, such as trying to quit smoking or drinking.
It can be used to make “hypnotherapists” wealthier.
If hypnotherapy worked reliably, why isn’t it more popular? Does insurance cover it?
Weight loss, insomnia, social anxiety.
@Charles Yes. “If you have outpatient mental health (or commonly called behavioral health outpatient visits) under your insurance contract, and wish to use your insurance, seek a certified clinical hypnotherapist that takes your insurance. Your insurance will only cover licensed mental health practitioners which will limit hypnotherapists that don’t already have a medical or masters degree.”
I used a guy who was certified for one session for grief. I felt I got my money’s worth. I paid for it out of pocket.
I think probably almost anything you feel you are trying to “deal” with. Common things I have heard are: Labor (during pregnancy), quitting smoking, better eating habits, dealing with anxiety, hypnosis during cancer treatments, and more.
Dentistry for filling and extraction without drugs.
It’s your attitude and approach to the technique. You, yourself, are capable of mind-over-matter conquering of fear of pain. If you can set aside skepticism, you can certainly benefit from suggestion.
Any sort of behavioral issues. Also, a lot of women use it for childbirth; it’s called “hypnobirthing.”
