Men: Do you get a pedicure? If no, why not?

Asked by chyna (51597points) May 11th, 2012

Do you think it’s something that is not for men, but for women only? Men have rough feet and toe nails that need tended to, so why not?

Why pay for something you can easily do yourself in one-tenth the time, and for no cost?

I am from an area where the men take pride in being manly. I could not imagine willingly going to a beauty salon that was not named “Barber Shop”.

The gay guys I know call each other “Mary” when the topic of spending too much time personal grooming comes up.

I do because I have rough skin on my feet that has inflicted damage during rendezvous before.

I don’t think I could stand my feet being touched because they’re sensitive and…it may cause an embarrassing situation that would make me dread having to stand after.

I live in a tiny town where there isn’t even a barbershop let alone a salon.
I have a Dremel tool and a power sander so I can do my own pedicure.

When I lived in civilization I would sometimes get manicures but I maintained my toes and feet myself – They aren’t visible in business meetings live my hands were.

These days, such attention is a luxury not covered by my disability income.

I am perfectly good at maintaining my toes, don’t need to pay someone and risk fungal infections.

No, not worth my time or money.

I give my husband a sort of pedicure. No soaking, but I take care of the nails and rough skin, apply lotion, and give him a foot massage. He’s a happy camper!

No, well…the wife tends to my plates of meat whenever she feels it necessary, so maybe it’s a yes.
I like foot jobs.

No because I just knock it out with my handy Dremmel grinding tool in a jiffy.

@gondwanalon Do you get any decent sparks when you do it?

My hubby goes with me about every two weeks. He feels like he’s in on a secret that most guys don’t know, and he’s pretty much a manly man.

I would be very uncomfortable having a stranger messing around with my feet.

I have to see a chiropodist regularly because I can’t bend enough to reach my own feet, but it counts as medical care and I don’t have to pay for it.
