What do you think of the Windows 7 preview?

I agree. It looks like a fancy version of Vista. I hope some things change between now and the release date. Here is another demo video shown at All Things Digital.

It makes me think “Oooh, great, we’re going to be reaching above and across our keyboards and touching our screens all day.” I’m sure they’ll work out the ergonomics, but the image hardly seems like an improvement.

i agree with kevbo. honestly, i don’t like (to be read as : hate) when people touch my laptop’s screen. something squirms inside of me. so that video wasn’t really making me jump for joy. the only thing that i think is semi-cool about it is how in the end the user played a piano on the screen. But HONESTLY, let’s think about this, with my limited experience in analyzing people’s hands and fingers, some people have especially large fingers, while some has small, thin ones etc. I can totally see myself wanting to hit the “X” to close a window, and end up maximizing it instead. This can get annoying very fast. Microsoft needs to stop disappointing.
