Does McDonald's really own Chipotle?

They did (partially), but sold out in 2006.

Thank you. I guess I should have revised my question – I have a second part. Did they completely sell out or does McDonald’s Corporation still own some percentage of Chipotle? Last I heard (and this was a while ago), McD’s still owned about 70% of Chipotle.

Not unless something happened recently. They had over 90% but completely divested in 2006.

Ok. That’s what I wondered. Now I can eat at Chipotle again. =]

BTW Bobby Flay just pronounced it “chipotuhlay” – he’s not as smart as he thinks he is.
