Is there a particular color that seems to dominate your wardrobe...and you don't know why?
I have about 4 pairs of various shades of green pants, and about 6 shirts of various green. More than 40% of my wardrobe is green in some way. They were purchased over the years for work. And I’m not a particular fan of green. How did this happen?

Just a coincidence I reckon. While I don’t consciously try to buy red clothes, even though it’s my favorite color, I generally do, and literally half my clothes are red. It’s funny to look at my closet. Just RED! But I do know that I look good in it, that’s probably why I end up buying so much of it. Purple’s making a comeback though as well as yellow.
Ha, I never really thought of this before, but I’ve noticed that I have a liking for many types of clothing that have red/black, yellow/black or yellow/blue color combinations.
Blues, greens greys and browns. It’s deliberate, I have red hair. I’d like yellow, but many shades of yellow make my skin look sallow. I sometimes wear red or pink out of sheer defience.
I have coats of many colors. lol
Right now I just bought a bunch of new summer skirts, one is yellow and white, plain white, multi-colored, pink, green, lavender, silk, peachy coral, black and white, purple, dark blue lace, denim colored and green and gold. Now I need new tops to match….I always pick wild colors then have a hard time matching tops. :-/
Apparently you like green more than you think you do.
But all I end up with @lillycoyote is green shirts with green pants! NO!!! I feel like a freakin’ Leprechaun
Dominate, yes, but I do know why. I’m very aware of it. Blue and the shades to either side of it, turquoise ranging toward green and violet ranging toward purple, are the colors that I feel best in and also the colors that most often elicit comments such as “That color looks great on you.” This has been true since I was in my teens. I break away from this pattern every once in a while, because I really love lots of color, but I always come back to it.
The only colors I consistently avoid are neon shades and pink, which I simply dislike.
@Dutchess_III By some black pants and black tops. They go with everything. The you can wear black and green. My problem is that I buy prints and then nothing goes with anything else that I have.
Yeah, but I know why. I like blues and blacks because they’re stylish, but not too attention-grabbing. I don’t really like bright colors.
Someone told me one time I dress in camouflage and that is true, I love beige, gray, taupe but I like a pale pink thrown it too. A little bit of black and true blues can be good. The wildest color I own are the purple laces that came in my last new pair of running shoes.
Any clear color with black, tan, grey or white. I don’t look good in muddy colors. I run more to reds and blues than yellows and greens, but there are always exceptions.
I tend to go in cycles of colors. We only go shopping for clothes twice a year, and we get a whole bunch of clothes at once, so I really notice when pick out certain colors. I always pick colors that I know look good on me, but I think most people do that.
I consistently pick out greys, but every season, I somehow end up picking a whole bunch of clothes out in only one or two other colors. One time, it was eggplant purple; another time, raspberry; this past fall/winter, I picked out clothes that were almost exclusively peaches and navy blues; this spring/summer, I’m leaning towards cobalt blue and bright chartreuse.
I think a lot of it has to do with trends in my case, and when I inadvertently choose two colors, I always somehow pick colors that go well together with each other, perhaps with the subconscious intention of wearing them together. But I also don’t have one favorite color- my favorite colors constantly change, and my clothes tend to follow in suit.
No, there’s a particular colour that dominates my wardrobe & I know exactly why.
I have a ton of green and navy in my wardrobe. I have to be pushed (by my kids) to venture into other colors. So now there’s a sprinkling of purple and raspberry in there, too. I’m a redhead, so I’m pretty careful about colors. There are so many that just look awful on me.
Charcoal Grey
3 pants, 5 shirts, 1 suit, 1 jacket
Black
2 pants, 5 shirts, 3 coats
I’m apparently boring. I generally resemble a mortician.
Nearly all my work shirts are grey pinstripe. I think it means I’m boring too.
Black but that’s not a mystery to me. Aside from that, there are colors for work that go in and out of fashion that I chalk it up to. There was the year of everything in seafoam/aqua/teal then there was the year of blush/peach/coral and a few seasons back of purples.
My whole wardrobe consists of blue, grey, black and white. I have two red t-shirts and one green one, but that’s all the variety I need.
black and grey. i really don’t like colors much on me but i love them in nature
