@WestRiverrat Gorgeous! Is that somewhere in the Rockies or Canada?
My island is in Cambodia. :-)
This place. It’s a bit big, but I hope to see most of it eventually.
I have seen most of Australia but I have yet to see WA and the Kimberlies. One of these days we will load up the land cruiser and off we go!
I would like to see Ibiza before I die. I’ve been to St. Maarten and the Bahamas already, but Ibiza seems different.
@WestRiverrat: Looks like the view from my deck…I m thrilled to be living in a gorgeous spot now that my joints make it hard to travel. Luckily I have been to most of the places I wanted to see.
@Coloma: Rates; second figure is off-season.

Overwater Villa – two bedroom US$3,590 US$2,790
Ocean View Villa – one bedroom US$1,835 US$1,415
Royal Villa – two bedrooms US$5,153 US$4,350
@gailcalled Yes, I want the Jungle Villa one bedroom. :-)
Well..like I said, it’s a dream vacation, I might have to settle for hut in the jungle instead of Villa, although my excursion to Asia a few years ago gave me a lot of bang for my buck.
I just woke up over here and was lying in bed thinking that the morning sounds of all the birds over here already sounds like a jungle. Just need a few Howler monkeys in the trees. haha
I love the asian quadrant though of Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Spectacular lands!
If I could only have one more holiday before I die it would be to Loch Ness
Staycation. I like to be home. I hate spending money. I hate lines. I hate getting nickle and dimed for every little thing like internet access or a can of soda.
If I am going to travel then I want the destination to be meaningful so we might go visit relatives back east. Of course, we have four kids under 13 so that means taking our show on the road and that is quite painful
Also, I don’t have a huge desire to visit famous places in the world. I can get a lot more information on the internet with videos, articles, photos, etc online from the comfort of my home. Sure, seeing something up close is nice but traveling there, waiting in lines, getting off a tour bus, hassles, ,,,it just isn’t worth it to me.
New Caledonia is very off the beaten path. My wife and I were there (in 2004) for only a week of camping, hiking and to run the Noumea marathon. We had such a great time in that wonderful paradise. I dream of another visit someday but that will not happen as it is hard to get there and it is expensive.
Yeah, in your mom’s bed. Whaaaat?! Holla back.
Train Trip Across Canada
I love the mountains and trains and National Parks. With this tour you get all that, plus you get to see the city of Vancouver.
Socotra island. It’s off the coast of Yemen and it looks totally wild and beautiful and weird. Although I’m not sure there’s a lot of hot running water around. So if that’s your cup of tea, don’t go there.
You guys might enjoy this site. From the people who brought you captioned felinographs, only they’re photos of nice places to visit.
We are saving up for a trip to Singapore, Indonesia (Bali and Java), and maybe Fiji.
@nikipedia – I love Singapore, one of the most exciting places, and the food at the open air eating courts is out of this world and cheap! Many go crazy over Bali, it doesn’t do much for me. Fiji has amazing beaches.
Oh wow….bucket list in hand!
@nikipedia Cambodia and Vietnam are just a hop, skip and a jump from Thailand. I LOVE Asia. In Cambodia the jungle temples are virtually untouched from hundreds and hundreds of years ago. Giant stone elephants and the worlds biggest water lillies. It’s paradise!
Nobody thinks of Vietnam is a travel destination, it’s magnificent!
