Aside from the obvious touristic landmarks/destinations, what else would you recommend to visit in Paris, France?

Notre Dame, Versailles, Louvre, Sacre Couer, Pere Lachaise; been there, or will go there.
But do you know of a sight that we should see?
A nice little, local restaurant?
Cheap book stores?
Anything else, that you’d rather kept secret, but are willing to share with me?
Thanks in advance!

A traditional bakery to get some freshly baked baguettes and croissants.
Sidewalk cafes.
Perhaps some of the famous graves of Paris. Jim Morrison, Napoleon Bonaparte, Chopin, Edith Piaf, Simone de Beauvoir & Jean Paul Sartre, Madame Curie, Rin Tin Tin.
The Cafe Procope? Actually, when I went there I was very disappointed with the creme brulee, but everything else was delicious. Yes, it’s rather expensive, but the guest list is quite spectacular. Over the years it has seated everyone from Marat to Simone de Beauvoir, and the decor is beautiful.
A friend of mine went there last summer and took a chocolate tour. I don’t know the name of it but she had great things to say about it. They went to different cafes and chocolate making places, and sampled various chocolate desserts.
You could see a Penguin in Montmartre! When are you going? I will be there next weekend.
(Aside from me, I would recommend a tour of the catacombs, hot chocolate at Deux Magots or Cafe Flore, wandering the back streets of Montmartre like Ave Junot and Caulincourt, Musee de Montmartre and check out the Lapin Agile, Musee D’Orsay, le Sainte Chapelle, the old Jewish quarter of the Marais. Walk around the small streets of the Ile de la Cite and sit on the banks at the tip with all the aging hippies where my son described hearing “the sounds of happiness in many different languages.” I highly recommend a boat ride on the Seine at dusk so that you come back when it’s dark and see the Eiffel Tower all lit up. (And have sex with someone for me.)
And if there’s still time, you can visit Bubby’s Jake!
