Can I get highlights?

I recently got a relaxer in my hair, to loosen my really tight curls, and I really like it, but I was also thinking about gettin highlights.

Is it safe to get them with the chemicals in my hair?

Probably. People get permanents and highlights, butnoton the sae day. They need to wait a couple weeks between processes. I agree with @janbb that you should speak to a professional.
