Yes, I know you can tap it. I know you can even enlarge the screen to tap your spot more accurately. It still doesn’t work well for me. If I tap one letter away then retry, the best I can get is the end of the word.
A delete key would also be nice!
Is there a keyboard app or something? I’m quite new to Apple products fwiw.

You already have a delete key. It’s at the upper right hand corner, and has a little x.
You might not be able to get arrow keys without jailbreaking – this is the only way I could find to customize my iPad gen 1’s keyboard. See directions here. This is legal & reversable, and may allow you to maintain the keys across apps.
There’s also an iTunes store app with left and right arrow keys, but it’s functionality is limited to intra-app use, and I wouldn’t guess that it works very well in general.
Many people opt to buy one of these for such needs.
@wildpotato That is a backspace key. Delete takes out the letter in front of it.
Thanks for the tips. I find ithe lack of arrow keys very frustrating.
Certain keyboards for Android have arrow keys. I am surprised that there aren’t similar things for iOS.
While we’re on the subject, when I try to connect to our internet here at home, it asks for a password, but the “join” button on the screen and on the keypad both stay ghosted. What do I need to do?
