I have been catching up on my shows, my T.V. shows, online, and I seem to have been left with some terrible cliff hangers. Anyone else in the same boat?
Bones, Temperance Brennan, has been framed for murder and has run off with her baby and is now a fugitive; Walt, from The Finder has been arrested for the murder of three men who were going to kill his mother, and Captain Cragen, from _Law and Order: SVJ, who has been investigating the murder of escort services that may go up as high as things go, woke up with blood on his hands and a dead prostitute in his bed. Arrggh! What is going to become of them? How can they leave us hanging like that?
And though it usually annoys me when people ask questions, in social, and then try to tell people what people can and cannot say, but I would really appreciate it if people don’t use this thread, if they are just going to pop in and tell us all that they don’t watch television, that they too good for it, that they are above all that and that it is all crap.
Go ahead and do it, if you must, but I would appreciate it if you could resist the temptation.
Some of us have cliff hangers going on here. We don’t have the time or patience for that crap.
What’s your cliffhanger or clifhangers?

That was supposed to be SVU :-) too late to edit though.
I’m currently re watching every single episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark, which was a kid’s show in the nineties. Horror themed, where kids around a campfire told a different scary story every episode. So there wasn’t much room for cliffhangers…but while the stories were the main event, there was always a little something going on with the characters that met up every episode to tell stories. Crushes, conflicts, ongoing things…obviously the air time wasn’t centered on them, so I guess that’s why a lot of things going on between them became inconclusive, but it’s pissing me off. I’m somehow more interested in them than I am with the stories they have to tell… I didn’t have much interest in this show as a kid actually, I thought it was boring and cheesy. It IS cheesy…but eh that ain’t my point. I’m getting a kick out of it now, and I wish everyone would stop picking on Kristen. And how many stories about boiled cigars or dead old men am I going to have to go through before I know if she really hooks up with David or not? It seems all but dropped by season 3. Then again I don’t remember too much…as I say, I never had any real interest in the show, but somehow, I still saw most of em. Lol.
I guess this doesn’t really answer your question because it’s not technically a cliffhanger, rather than an idea just being abandoned. Nineties shows for kids were really good at avoiding progression by just replacing all main characters with entirely new main characters. lookin yer wey, power rangerz
It still pisses me off as much as your cliffhanger pisses you off though. so don’t replace me XD
@Symbeline I’m not sure what you mean, exactly, but what on earth could I replace you, @Symbeline with? I can’t think of anything, so never fear. :-)
Oh I was making a joke about how some shows I watched replaced all the main characters with other main characters, seemingly just for the lols. XD And I know you’d never replace me. :D
@Symbeline Good. Setting aside the actual topic of this question, whatever it may have been, you are irreplaceable.
This one is crazy excited that Teen Wolf is starting up again. The last season definitely ended on a few cliffhangers so the anticipation is almost over. As for other cliffhangers…the last season of Psych ended on Shaun’s dad possibly being murdered which is crazy because its a comedy and I really don’t want Corbin Bernsen to leave the show.
That might be it. I don’t know if I care about True Blood and their plot-teasing any more. That last season was a clusterfuck.
@fundevogel As long as they follow through. I don’t like left hanging if the show is not going to tie things up in the next season. I don’t care for the lot tease or the mind fuck either.
The Finder was cancelled. Which is a shame since I really liked it. But it is FOX and that is how they roll.
Well, since both Booth and Brennan are the central characters on a successful show, so it will eventually end up ok.
I was so ticked off at the whole muddled up and totally implausible Gormagon storyline and the elimination of Zack that I quit the show the next year or two. When I saw that they finally returned to something resembling sanity and the spirit of the original, I started watching again.
But even when they have reruns now and there’s anything involving that entirely implausible story arc, I just erase it off the DVR. It was a total science fiction comedy and made the entire show a laughingstock. I just attribute it to a collective temporary insanity on their part and I done think im the only one who quit watching after that travesty. I think they realized their mistake in going that far afield in a show firmly rooted in science and human psychology. It was just totally ridiculous. And Zack in a mental hospital for life?? Give me a break. That character deserved better.
And kudos to bringing in the Shrink Sweets character. Definitely lends more credibility all around.
In a sense, this show bears a resemblance to Criminal Minds, since they are, in a sense, profiling (or using the same skillet) but more from the angle of bone forensics. Adding a Psychiatrist character was perfect and brought back some much needed credibility to a show that went off the rails.
I’m on the last episodes of Game of Thrones and The Borgias. Meh, I don’t really care. I admit that I enjoyed The Borgias more than I thought I would, Jeremy Irons creeps me out. I just watched Game of Thrones because I kept hearing about it and decided to see for myself. Basically just a soap. And since Sean Bean was out of the picture before I ever laid eyes on it, I don’t really care. I vote that they make a character for Til Schweiger next season.
Dexter, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead are my cliff hangers. I don’t know what I would do without Gordon Ramsay (Master Chef and Hell’s Kitchen) to entertain me during the summer months while I wait, impatiently.
I was mistaken. Game of Thrones may have just sucked me in. Tyrion is not dead, which pleases me. Joffrey is not dead, which I hope someone soon remedies. Winterfell is a burned ruin, the little Stark girl escaped, the Khaleesi has her dragons back, and north of the wall some sort of organized snow zombie attack is underway. Who knew?
I’m really into The Killing on AMC (based on a Swedish tv show) right now… it’s basically one Law & Order episode being dragged out over two seasons, I’m addicted! Every episode is a cliffhanger so I try to wait two weeks so I have more than one episode to watch in a row :)
Bwa ha ha ha! This answer has been posted between 2:16 and 2:32 am June.4.2012.
I have just started watching 24 recently and presently I’m on the 16th episode of the 2nd season. Cliffhangers? What cliffhangers? Are those scenes that were making me yell things in front of the TV screen like…
“Fuck you Jack Bauer’s daughter! You keep attracting trouble for yourself! Just shoot yourself in the head, will yah?” or something like…
“Oh shit no! I don’t want George Mason to crash the plane and die just because he needed to detonate a nuclear bomb and save millions of Californians! He has been exposed to deadly radiation that would kill him in a few hours but look…look what he had been doing…he was in the office…working! He was trying to redeem himseeeelf! And he left his estranged son money! And he was not even as popular as Keiferrrr! Is there no justice in this woooorld, oh God!!! ( wipes bitter tears )
Cliffhangers? What are those? Lol.
Well some of the cliffhangers for me have been obliterated by spoilers! :-|
Perhaps if we are going to explain what happens in programmes we can put a spoiler alert at the front of our post?
I am waiting on The Walking Dead to come back on. Still watching the second series of Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad (third season) and Revenge (first season). I don’t mind cliffhangers really.
You certainly make reference to various outdoor sports in your question.
First you mention cliff-hangers (implying mountain climbing) and then you ask about if others are in the ‘same boat’.
Seems to me like you should watch less drama and more Wide World of Sports.
Psych, Castle, and Once Upon A Time. All the TV shows I follow are on break, leaving us to deal with these cliffhangers!
