Have any songs that have to deal with summer?
Could be something in the title and/or lyrics that mentions something about summer. Let’s have a summer song thread!
Right now, I can only think of one: You Took the Words Right Out of my Mouth
“On a hot summer night,
Would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?
Will he offer me his mouth?
Yes
Will he offer me his teeth?
Yes
Wlll he offer me his jaws?
Yes
Will he offer me his hunger?
Yes
Again. Will he offer me his hunger?
Yes
And will he starve without me?
Yes
And does he love me?
Yes
Yes
On a hot summer night.
Would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?
Yes
I bet you say that to all the boys.”

Cruel Summer – was it by Bananarama? “It’s a cruel, cruel summer, leaving me here on my own, it’s a cruel, cruel summer, you’re not the only one.”
Will Smith had a hit song about the summer – I forgot the name of it.
@jca Summertime that’s what came to mind when I read the question. Or Justin Timberlake’s “Summer Love”
And Janis and Hendrix with Summertime. Can’t go wrong there.
Billie Holiday singing a blues version of Summertime from Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess.”
The Norah Jones version.
I’m not crazy about Janis’s take on it.
It’s Too Darn Hot from “Kiss Me, Kate.” Good dancing sequence here.
This one. I went to boarding school and was forever in love with a boy from our brother school. So when June came around that song was our theme song. Until about July, then someone from home always seem to ease the pain of the separation ;-)
To me, any song by the Beach Boys spells summer.
Also, Rockaway Beach and Surfin Bird by the Ramones.
Let’s not forget Kid Rock: (and you don’t have to be in Michigan to appreciate it) All Summer Long.
A metaphorical summer, (but still summer, nonetheless) The Green Leaves of Summer.
And an oldie but goodie : Under the Boardwalk
