Where would be some places one could practice piano if they did not own a piano or didn't know anyone who had a piano?

For ex: Say you were on vacation and needed/wanted to practice the piano but your host didn’t have one and didn’t know of anyone who does.

Do you have other options or would you just have to go ahead and invest in a piano?

You could buy a keyboard to practice.

Find a church that will let you practice.

Church, school, music school, or as @ragingloli an electric keyboard. Although, for very elaborate pieces a keyboard would not really suffice, unless it was a pretty expensive one.

When I was little the neighbor’s grandma had been a concert pianist. She tried teaching the neighborhood kids to play with a life size cardboard keyboard. You didn’t get sound feedback, but you could practice your fingering. Still seems like a strange way to go about it, but most of the kids didn’t have pianos at home.

If you know how to play, you could do what a friend of mine did: he went to a bar that had a piano on a Monday, and asked if he could play background music. He ended up getting some tips.

I currently own a full size keyboard, but this just in case this situation ever came up. Whenever I’m out of town and away from my digital keyboard, I start to miss it and was just wondering where I could go to practice if the urge became to great, since I don’t normally pack my keyboard.
Thanks everyone.

If you don’t mind paying money, you can find either rehearsal studios with pianos or musical practice rooms that rent by the hour. It’ll take some research, but if you’re going to be in a different town for a while, it’ll give you more privacy than playing in a church or pub.

Costco often has pianos (electric ones) for sale that are plugged in. My kids love sitting there to play their latest piece.

You could try a piano store or a hotel lobby, but you have to play reasonably well.
